Vaillant – Rubber feet shortened (40 cm) for concealed installation with bottom cover

The original shortened version of the damping feet from Vaillant with a length of 40 cm, supplemented with a bottom cover, intended for so-called concealed (covered) installation of the outdoor unit of the aroTHERM heat pump. Compared to the standard 60 cm feet (see our product "Rubber feet for free-standing installation"), this version is shorter and supplemented with a covering panel at the bottom, which hides the space under the unit and thus protects the piping and electrical connections running under the unit from weather influences, rodents and mechanical damage.

Purpose and use

This variant is suitable especially for installations where the space for placing the unit is limited (e.g. smaller paved area, narrow gap next to the house wall) and at the same time it is desirable to aesthetically cover the lower part of the structure – for example, when the unit is placed in direct view from the terrace or garden, where the uncovered space with connections would look aesthetically disturbing. The bottom cover also prevents the accumulation of leaves and dirt under the unit and makes it more difficult for small rodents to access the insulated connections.

Vibration damping function

Just like with the standard set of feet, this shortened version also performs the primary function of acoustic and mechanical separation of the unit from the base – the rubber damping inserts reduce the transmission of vibrations from the compressor and fan to the base and thus also the structural noise spreading to the surrounding structures. The shorter length (40 cm compared to 60 cm) is suitable for smaller floor dimensions of the base of some unit models or for space-limited installations.

Compatibility

Designed for outdoor units of the aroTHERM/aroTHERM plus range with a smaller base footprint, where the standard 60 cm length of the feet is not necessary or spatially suitable. Before ordering, we recommend verifying the exact type and dimensions of the base of the specific unit to ensure correct dimensional compatibility with the cover panel.

Installation

The feet are placed on a flat, paved and drained base at a spacing corresponding to the base of the unit, the unit is placed on them and fastened. The bottom cover panel is mounted after the unit is installed and all connections are made, making sure to leave sufficient access for any future service (removable or detachable panel mounting). We recommend entrusting the installation to a professionally qualified service company simultaneously with the installation of the unit.

Frequently asked questions

Can the cover panel be mounted additionally to already installed 60 cm feet? This is a separate, dimensionally adapted product (40 cm) with its own cover panel, not an additional accessory to the standard set – for covering an existing installation, we recommend consulting with the installation company about a suitable solution.

Is access to the connections under the unit preserved for service? Yes, the cover panel is designed as a removable element, which allows temporary access to the space under the unit in case of service intervention.

Is this version suitable for areas with high snow cover? For areas with significant snow accumulation, we recommend a raised mounting base (40 cm lift with free space for air circulation), since the bottom cover in this set is not primarily intended for protection against snow accumulation.

Operational and service recommendations

During the annual service inspection, we recommend removing the bottom cover panel and checking the condition of the connections and damping inserts under the unit, and removing any accumulated dirt (leaves, twigs). After the inspection, reattach the panel properly to maintain its protective function.

Related accessories

We recommend combining the feet with a suitable connection kit for bottom or side installation according to the direction of the route to the house. Comparison of outdoor unit installation methods

Vaillant offers three basic mounting methods for the outdoor unit aroTHERM, from which the investor chooses together with the installation company according to the site layout, type of façade and climatic conditions of the location:

• Free-standing installation on rubber feet (this product) – the simplest and fastest solution, does not load the perimeter wall of the house, suitable for flat paved ground, terrace or roof with sufficient load-bearing capacity. Does not require a concrete foundation or intervention in the façade.
• Wall bracket – saves space on the site, the unit is lifted above the ground, but requires verified wall strength and professional fastening (mechanical or chemical anchors according to the type of façade).
• Raised mounting base (40 cm) – combines the advantages of free-standing installation with protection against snow accumulation, suitable especially for locations with regular high snow cover.

In all three cases, the key common denominator is the quality damping of the unit using rubber/elastic damping elements, which prevent the transmission of compressor vibrations to the building structure – it is precisely this function that the feet described in this product perform.

Installation procedure step by step

1. Mark out and prepare a flat, drained and sufficiently load-bearing base, taking into account the shorter 40 cm spacing of the feet.
2. Place the feet on the base so that they are parallel and in the same plane.
3. Mount the outdoor unit and, if necessary, fasten it through the prepared holes in the base.
4. Connect the piping, electrical installation and condensate drain, leaving sufficient working space for the later installation of the bottom cover.
5. After completing all connections, mount the bottom cover panel so that it remains removable for future service access.
6. Check the stability and flatness of the installation and put the unit into operation according to the manufacturer's instructions.
