A storage tank (hot water cylinder) stores domestic hot water ready for immediate use – it is heated either by its own electric heating element, or indirectly via a heat exchanger connected to a boiler, heat pump or solar system.
Our range includes storage tanks and water heaters from Dražice, Tatramat, Eliz, Quadroflex, Q-TERMO, Bosch, Buderus, Ariston, Protherm and other brands – from small unpressurised water heaters mounted above a sink to large-volume stationary storage tanks.
When choosing a unit, the most important factors are the volume based on the number of people and hot water consumption, the mounting method (vertical/horizontal, above sink/under sink), and whether you need direct electric heating or indirect heating via a boiler or heat pump.

Storage tanks, boilers and water heaters for DHW connected to boilers.
Storage tanks, boilers, or water heaters are made from high-quality carbon steel or stainless steel. They are manufactured in volumes from 60 litres from Protherm up to 500 litres. Removable insulation made of hardened non-flammable polyurethane or foam acts as tank insulation, preventing heat loss from the heated water in the tank. The outer surface finish is coated in white or blue-grey. It meets the requirements of DIN 4753.3. For water heating they have one fixed heating coil fitted at the bottom of the tank, connected directly to the heating circuit of the boiler. Some tanks are equipped with a circulation loop. It enables circulation of hot water, ensuring a constantly hot water in the pipework.
Some tanks can be supplied with a built-in solar control station and a solar heating coil.
A magnesium anode located in the upper part of the tank serves as protection against limescale build-up.

- How large a hot water tank do I need? As a rough guide, allow around 40-50 litres per person for typical consumption; for multiple bathrooms or higher consumption, a larger volume is worthwhile.
- What is the difference between a storage tank and a boiler (water heater)? In practice, both terms are often used interchangeably - it's a hot water vessel that is heated either electrically or indirectly via a heat exchanger connected to a boiler/heat pump.
- Can a tank be connected to an existing boiler? Yes, most standalone indirect-heated tanks can be retrofitted to almost any gas, electric or solid-fuel boiler.
- What is the difference between a pressurised and an unpressurised water heater? A pressurised water heater is connected to the water supply and serves multiple outlets, while an unpressurised (open-outlet) water heater is installed directly at a single tap/shower.
- How often does a tank need servicing? It is generally recommended to check the anode and safety valve once a year, which extends the tank's service life and prevents corrosion.
