Solar controller, or solar circuit control for charging a boiler, solar panels, collectors
Solar controller, controls for charging a boiler, storage tank. The controller is the control unit of the solar system. Its basic use is preparing domestic hot water in households. The controller monitors the temperature of the solar collector and up to two storage tanks suitably selected for the operating mode. The device can control an additional heat source or an electric heater that provides supplementary heating at moments when the energy obtained from the solar collector is not sufficient. The user can program the time ranges in which the supplementary heating is switched on.
The controller can work in one of four modes. The list of available modes depends on which sensors are connected. All sensors are identified when the power is switched on. This prevents an incorrect operating mode from being set. A diagram of the system for each of the operating modes is shown continuously on the display of the solar controller.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a solar controller used for? It controls the circulation of the medium between the solar collectors and the storage tank (boiler) so that the heat from the collectors is used as efficiently as possible and the system does not overheat.
- Can the controller be connected to two storage tanks? Yes, several models (e.g. Euroster 813 Solar, ZPS 16/28) support simultaneous control of two storage tanks according to priorities set by the user.
- Does the controller automatically detect connected sensors? Yes, the sensors are identified automatically when the power is switched on, which prevents an incorrect operating mode from being set.
- What do the ZPS 6/16/28 control units mean? The number indicates the maximum output/capacity of the controlled solar assembly – we recommend the right size based on the number of collectors and the size of the storage tank.
