Electric spirals, or rods, for connecting to heated towel rails in the bathroom
Heating spirals (rods) are used for electric heating of a heated towel rail. They are inserted directly into the radiator through a special T-piece, adapted to combine an electric spiral with the classic heating water. The main advantage of such a solution is that it heats the rail even when the boiler is not running, for example during summer or transitional periods. Electric spirals are divided by output, from 200 W up to 900 W for large heated towel rails. A plug-in thermostat (a device for setting the temperature) can also be connected to the electric spiral, allowing you to regulate either the heating time or, of course, the temperature. Frequently asked questions
- What output of heating rod do I need? For a standard bathroom (up to 4 m²) a rod with an output of 150-300 W is enough; for larger spaces or drying larger rails we recommend 600-900 W.
- Can the rod also be connected to a radiator linked to the central heating? Yes, a special T-piece lets you connect both the heating water and the electric rod to the same rail at the same time.
- Is a separate thermostat needed? For rods without a thermostat, yes - temperature regulation is handled by a plug-in thermostat; rods with a thermostat already have regulation built in.
- Does the rod fit every rail? Most rods have a standard thread suitable for common heated towel rails; if in doubt we recommend checking the connection size before buying.
