Product detailed description
Electric heating rod with thermostat for ladder radiators.
The rod is installed into the ladder radiator in place of the plug and allows heating the bathroom even outside the heating season (e.g. in summer) without the need to run the boiler. It simply plugs into a standard 230 V electrical socket.
- Power: 150 W
- Colour: chrome
- Rod length: 28 cm
- Approximate weight: approx. 355 g
- Connection thread: G 1/2"
- Voltage: 230 V ~ 50 Hz
- Temperature setting range (electronic thermostat): approx. 5-70 °C (± 3 °C), the thermostat senses the temperature of the medium (water) inside the rod
- Power cable: PP/J-Y 3×0.75 mm², coiled (extendable), approx. 1.5 m when extended
- Protection rating: IP65 - protection against water and dust ingress, sealed with a rubber gasket
- Protection class: I (requires earthing)
- Safety: thermal fuse that cuts power in case of overheating
- Warranty: 24 months
Installation and how it works
The rod is installed into the lower (or upper) opening of the ladder radiator in place of the plug using a suitable wrench. The housing with the thermostat and cable rotates around its axis, so once screwed in you can turn it into a position where the thermostat control is clearly visible and accessible. This lets you heat the radiator with water from the boiler in winter and electrically outside the heating season, without having to run the whole heating system.
Frequently asked questions
- How is the rod connected to the mains? Via a standard 230 V socket using the supplied plug - no need for a fixed connection to the electrical installation.
- What type of thermostat is inside? An electronic, rotary thermostat that senses the water temperature inside the rod (not the room air temperature).
- Can it be installed from the top of the radiator too? Yes, installation is also possible from the upper part of the radiator instead of the plug, not just from below.
- What medium can be in the radiator? Water as well as an antifreeze mixture (the heat-transfer fluid commonly used in ladder radiators).
- How do I choose the right power? Lower outputs (150-300 W) are suitable as a supplementary heat source or for small radiators, higher outputs (600-1200 W) for larger ladder radiators or as the main heat source outside the heating season.
