Couplings, Pipe Fittings

Couplings and fittings for water and heating pipework – elbows, tees, reducers, compression and press fittings made of brass and plastic.

You choose according to the pipework diameter and the type of connection. We will be happy to advise you on both selection and installation – write to us via the contact form or by e-mail. A detailed guide to choosing, installing and servicing fittings can be found in our knowledge centre for couplings and fittings.

Compression, press and plastic push-fit couplings, fittings for plastic-aluminium composite pipe, PEX, PERT, polybutylene and other heating pipes.

Brass threaded

couplings

Brass couplings and fittings are the most widely used connections for steel heating pipework, for example under the boiler and other heating solutions.

Brass compression

couplings

Brass compression couplings are used to join plastic-aluminium composite pipes, or as a transition from steel to composite pipe.

Brass press

fittings

Brass press fittings from the IVAR system are mostly used by professional installers, where special pressing tongs are required.

Plastic push-fit

couplings

The simplest heating system, which requires no tools at all. Connecting is done just by pushing the pipe in.

Plastic

couplings for PE

Pressure-rated plastic couplings for buried PE pipe runs, used for drinking water, garden irrigation, or a nicely chilled beer

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What fitting material is suitable for heating pipework? Most commonly brass or galvanised/stainless steel, depending on the pipe type and connection method.
  • What is the difference between a threaded and a compression fitting? A threaded fitting is connected directly by thread into the pipe, boiler or valve. A compression fitting slides onto a plastic-aluminium composite or copper pipe and is tightened with a union nut, without welding or pressing.
  • How do I choose the correct fitting size? By the outer diameter of the pipe (for example 16, 20, 26 mm) or by the thread size in inches (3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1").
  • Can fittings also be used for drinking water pipework? Yes, both brass and stainless steel fittings are also suitable for hot and cold domestic water systems.
