Air conditioners and dehumidifiers
Air conditioners both cool and heat (in models with a heat pump), while dehumidifiers deal with excessive humidity in an apartment, house or cellar.
When choosing, the key factor is output relative to the size of the room. We are happy to advise you on both the selection and the installation – write to us via the contact form or by e-mail.

Portable and split air conditioning units for the home
Air conditioners for house and apartment, or air conditioning units, are devices for cooling a designated space, whether in a house or an apartment. Air conditioners work on a principle similar to a refrigerator, only in reverse. They remove heat from the house, thereby cooling the space. The most common air conditioners for the home, or apartment, always consist of a compressor, an exchanger, and the actual air conditioning unit. Some air conditioners for house or apartment can also be without an outdoor unit. This solution has several advantages; above all, there’s no need for the complex installation of an outdoor unit and dealing with condensate drainage. All the components – the compressor, the fan – are built into the air conditioning unit indoors. Another category are portable air conditioners, which can be moved around and will cool only a smaller space.
Frequently asked questions
- What’s the difference between a split and a portable air conditioner? A split air conditioner has both an outdoor and an indoor unit and achieves higher efficiency; a portable unit can be relocated and doesn’t need a fixed outdoor unit installation.
- Can an air conditioner also be used for heating? Most modern air conditioners also work in air-to-air heat pump mode and can heat the space during transitional seasons.
- When is a dehumidifier more suitable than an air conditioner? If you need to reduce air humidity, for example after insulation work or in a cellar, without needing to cool the space, a standalone dehumidifier is enough.
- Does air conditioner installation require a professional? Yes, for split units, installation involving connecting the refrigerant circuit must be carried out by a certified technician.
