Product detailed description
Buderus is one of the historically most important brands in heating technology – today operating under the Bosch Thermotechnik group, carrying with it a reputation for precise German craftsmanship. Buderus cylinders and solar modules are developed to work perfectly with heat sources of the same brand (Logamax, Logano boilers), but they also work just as well combined with heat sources from other manufacturers.
Complete Buderus Logalux S120 cylinder set, silver
Buderus Set S120, silver offers the same technical solution as the white version – a full set of an indirectly heated 120-litre cylinder with a complete safety circuit – in a modern silver-metallic design. The "S" type cylinder is equipped with a single heat exchanger connected to the boiler, which heats domestic water stored in an enamelled tank with a protective magnesium anode.
Unlike the lightweight "light" version, this set also includes an expansion vessel with a safety valve, so no additional safety components need to be purchased to put the cylinder into operation.
What is included in the set
The package includes:
- LOGALUX S120.5 S-B, SILVER (code 7735500673, 1 pc)
- FSS temperature sensor (code 5991520, 1 pc)
- Logafix expansion vessel D12, 10 bar, white (code 80432072, 1 pc)
- Logafix AirfixControl (code 7747201056, 1 pc)
- Bracket for expansion vessel MB2 (code 12222017, 1 pc)
The FSS temperature sensor informs the boiler control unit of the current water temperature in the tank, the D12 expansion vessel (10 bar) compensates for volume changes of the water as it heats up, the AirfixControl safety valve with pressure gauge monitors and protects the system against excessive pressure, and the MB2 bracket serves to securely mount the expansion vessel.
How to choose the right cylinder size
A volume of 120 litres is suitable for a household of 2 to 3 people. If there are more household members or the demand for simultaneous hot water draw-off from multiple points is higher, we recommend considering a larger set, for example S160 (160 litres). The actual availability of hot water also depends on the output of the heat source that reheats the cylinder.
Frequently asked questions
Is the silver S120 set functionally identical to the white one?
Yes, the difference lies solely in the design of the cylinder's outer casing; the technical parameters and set components are identical.
Does the set include a safety valve?
Yes, it includes the AirfixControl safety valve with a pressure gauge, which is an essential safety element of a pressurised cylinder.
What type of boiler is needed to operate this cylinder?
The cylinder is compatible with most common gas and other boilers equipped with a DHW heating output.
How long does the water in the cylinder stay hot without reheating?
Thanks to the quality PU insulation, heat losses are relatively low; the exact time, however, depends on the ambient temperature and heat losses of the piping.
Is inspection of the pressure vessel required?
Yes, the expansion vessel and safety valve should be part of the regular annual inspection of the heating system.
Can a solar circuit be added later?
This model has only one heat exchanger and is not intended for connecting solar collectors; for combined heating we recommend the SM series.
Installation and operation
Installation of the cylinder and its connection to the heating, or solar, circuit must be carried out exclusively by a qualified, authorised person – this involves work on hot water, gas or electrical piping as well as work with pressure vessels, where incorrect installation can jeopardize operational safety and void the warranty. Before installation, we recommend checking that there is sufficient space at the installation site for service access (especially to the heat exchangers, anode and sensors), that the floor can bear the weight of the filled cylinder, and that drainage of any water from the safety valve is ensured.
After connection, the cylinder must be filled, vented, and the control technology (sensors, or solar circuit control) set according to the project documentation and manufacturer's instructions. Regular servicing – checking the anode, tightness, pressure in the expansion vessel and the function of the safety valve – extends the cylinder's service life and reduces the risk of unexpected failure.
Warranty and service
Buderus products are generally covered by a 2-year statutory warranty. When the appliance is registered via the official Buderus portal and commissioned by an authorised service technician, an extended warranty on the cylinder's heat exchanger can typically be obtained under standard conditions – we recommend verifying the exact terms and length of the extended warranty directly during product registration or with an authorised Buderus service partner. The Buderus service network in Slovakia is extensive, spare parts are readily available, and if installation and maintenance instructions are followed, you can expect many years of trouble-free operation from the cylinder.
