Vaillant – Wall bracket for mounting the outdoor unit on the wall, for non-insulated façade (3, 5 and 7 kW)
Original wall bracket from Vaillant for direct mounting of the aroTHERM heat pump outdoor unit on a bare (uninsulated) load-bearing wall of a house – masonry or concrete construction without an external insulation system. Compared to the version for insulated façade, the anchoring is shorter and simpler, since it is not necessary to overcome the layer of thermal insulation.
Application and limitations
The bracket is intended for smaller power ranges of the aroTHERM outdoor units (typically 3, 5 and 7 kW – models VWL 35, VWL 55 and VWL 75 in versions /8.1 A, /6 A and /5 AS). For higher power units (VWL 105, 125, 155 and selected /3, /2 series), the manufacturer does not allow wall mounting on this bracket due to weight and load moment – in such cases, a free installation on the ground or roof using bases or elevated foundations must be chosen.

Installation
Installation requires verification of sufficient load-bearing capacity and condition of the masonry (solid brick, concrete, blocks with verified load capacity) and the use of suitable anchoring elements (mechanical or chemical anchors according to the type of substrate) at the specified distances according to the Vaillant installation instructions. Installation, commissioning, service and any repairs must be carried out exclusively by a qualified person with authorization for the installation of heat pumps and heating systems.
Advantages of wall mounting
The wall bracket saves space on the plot, the unit is elevated above ground level (reducing the risk of snow accumulation and damage during garden maintenance) and shortens the pipe route to the building. In the case of an uninsulated wall, the installation is also simpler and faster than in the version for an insulated façade, since there is no need to solve the anchoring through the insulation layer.
Common questions
What is the difference compared to the version for an insulated façade? It is the same principle of a bracket with damping feet, but the length and anchoring method differ – this version is intended directly for bare masonry without external insulation.
What if I plan to insulate the house in the future? In that case, we recommend consulting with the installation company whether after additional insulation it will be necessary to replace it with the version for an insulated façade, or to modify the length of the anchoring elements.
Is a static assessment of the wall necessary? For standard masonry or concrete substrate, a visual verification of the wall condition and thickness by the installation company is sufficient; in case of doubts about the load capacity (thin partitions, damaged masonry), we recommend a structural assessment by a static engineer.
Operational and service recommendations
As with the version for an insulated façade, we recommend checking the tightening of the anchoring elements and the condition of the damping feet during the annual service inspection. In the case of an uninsulated wall, the risk of additional settlement of the anchoring is usually lower than when anchoring through an insulation layer, but the inspection remains part of the recommended maintenance.

- Load capacity and material of the wall – masonry or concrete construction with verified load capacity is a prerequisite for safe anchoring; in case of doubts (thin partitions, damaged masonry, wooden structure), a free installation is more suitable.
- Risk of vibration transfer to living areas – in the case of wall mounting near a living room or lounge, vibrations can be transferred more intensively through the masonry than with a free-standing unit, so the quality of the damping elements of the bracket is particularly important for wall mounting.
- Length of the pipe route to the house – wall mounting usually shortens the pipe route, which reduces heat losses and material costs.
In practice, wall brackets are most often used in new buildings with a well-planned location of the technical part of the façade, while free installation is more often chosen in renovations or when the load capacity of the existing wall is uncertain.
Installation steps step by step
- Verify the load capacity and condition of the bare (uninsulated) masonry at the planned anchoring location and mark the exact position of the bracket according to the project.
- Drill holes for the anchoring elements corresponding to the type of substrate (mechanical or chemical anchors).
- Mount and tighten the bracket, check its horizontal and vertical alignment.
- Mount the outdoor unit on the bracket and secure it according to the installation instructions.
- Install the mounting kit for installation through the wall, pipe lines, electrical installation and condensate drain, then commission the unit.
