Vaillant – Connection Kit for aroTHERM plus Outdoor Unit, Bottom Installation with Cover
Original complete connection (mounting) kit from Vaillant for the solution of pipe routing to the aroTHERM plus outdoor unit from below – that is, where the pipe comes to the unit from below, through a concrete foundation or compacted ground, and not laterally through the wall of the house. The kit includes a complete casing made of thermal insulation material meeting the requirements of current legislation on building energy efficiency (in Germany marked as GEG-conform, equivalent to our requirements for limiting heat losses through building envelope constructions).
Kit Contents
- 2× stainless steel corrugated (flexible) tube, length approx. 250 mm, with flat gasket DN 25 and double-sided sleeve nut G 1 1/4"
- 2× connectors (type Beulco or equivalent) suitable for PE pipe with diameter 40 mm, for connection to the underground routing to the indoor unit/hydraulic module
- Complete cover/casing made of EPP (expanded polypropylene) – meets the requirements for thermal insulation of the transition, is resistant to bird pecking and weather influences
- Cover plate and mounting consoles/feet for complete finalization of the transition
Purpose and Use
The kit provides an aesthetically and thermally clean transition of pipe routing (return and supply branch of heating water) between the outdoor unit and the underground routing to the indoor unit, while maintaining the required thermal insulation parameters of the transition (to prevent heat loss through an imperfect or insufficiently insulated transition, or the formation of condensation and mold at the transition point). It is suitable especially for installations where the outdoor unit is placed on open ground (on pedestals or elevated base) near the house, with a short underground route.

Compatibility

Installation
Installation includes placing the lower part of the cover into a prepared excavation/foundation so that the pipe transition is at the level of the unit's floor/foundation, connecting the flexible stainless steel corrugated tubes to the unit's connectors, connecting the PE routing via the supplied connectors, and finally closing and insulating with the cover. Implementation must be carried out exclusively by a qualified person authorized for heat pump installation, in accordance with the current manufacturer's installation instructions and the requirements of applicable legislation on thermal protection of transitions.

How does this kit differ from the "through the wall" version? This kit solves the pipe transition from below (through the foundation/ground), while the alternative kit (0010027974) solves the transition laterally through the wall of the house – the choice depends on the installation layout.
Is it necessary to purchase connecting hoses separately? The kit includes short corrugated hoses for direct connection to the unit; for a longer route to the indoor unit, it is combined with additional connecting kits as needed.
Does the kit meet current energy efficiency requirements? Yes, the thermal insulation casing is designed to minimize heat losses at the transition point in accordance with current standards.
Operational and Service Recommendations
During the annual service inspection, we recommend checking the condition of the transition cover (integrity of the EPP casing, possible signs of rodent damage or mechanical damage) and the tightness of the connected corrugated hoses. In case of cover damage, we recommend its replacement to maintain the declared thermal insulation function of the transition.

- Type of end connection to the routing – pressfit (permanent and maintenance-free after crimping) or threaded/quick-release (removable, does not require professional crimping tools).
- Need for route extension – in case of greater distance between the unit and the transition point (e.g., when combined with an elevated base or with larger units with the uniTOWER module), the basic kit is supplemented with an extension part.
All parts are designed to form a continuous, thermally insulated and mechanically protected route meeting the requirements of current legislation on limiting heat losses through building envelope constructions. Installation Procedure Step by Step
- Prepare the excavation/foundation for the lower part of the cover so that the pipe transition corresponds to the level of the unit's floor/foundation.
- Mount the lower part of the EPP cover and connect the flexible stainless steel corrugated tubes to the unit's connectors.
- Connect the PE pipe routing via the supplied connectors (Beulco or equivalent).
- Perform a pressure test of the connection before final closing of the cover.
- Close and insulate the transition with the upper part of the cover, or install an extension part if the route is longer.
- Backfill/adjust the ground around the transition and put the system into operation.
