Detailed information

Product detailed description

– 18 kW gasification boiler for brown coal briquettes, black coal and wood – COMBI with an exhaust fan and a cooling loop

It is designed for burning briquettes on the principle of generator gasification using an exhaust fan (S), which draws flue gases out of the boiler.
The boiler body is made as a welded structure from quality steel sheets 3 to 6 mm thick. It consists of two chambers stacked on top of each other, the upper one serving as a fuel hopper, the lower one as a combustion chamber and ash pan. Between them is placed a new, patent-protected rotary grate, which enables perfect gasification of the fuel and easy ash removal. At the rear of the boiler body there is a vertical flue gas duct, fitted at the top with a lighting flap. The upper part of the flue gas duct is fitted with an exhaust nozzle for connection to the chimney. Primary and secondary air is preheated to a high temperature to achieve high efficiency and quality combustion.

Basic technical data Atmos AC16S:

  • output 18 kW
  • required chimney draft: 16 Pa
  • boiler weight: 273 kg
  • water volume: 37 L
  • hopper volume: 45 dm3
  • electrical input: 50 W
  • connection voltage: 230/50 V/Hz
  • prescribed fuel: brown coal briquettes with a calorific value of 19–23 MJ/kg, black coal nut 1 with a calorific value of 20–30 MJ/kg
  • backup fuel: wood with a max. length of 250 mm
  • minimum return water temperature: 65 °C
  • combustion quality - CO: <500 mg/m3
  • combustion class: 5
  • suitable connection ATMOS F1 Laddomat, ATMOS F3 ESBE

Advantages of ATMOS coal gasification boilers:

  • ability to burn quality brown coal and wood as a backup fuel
  • large fuel hopper = long burning time
  • high efficiency 81 – 88% depending on the type – primary and secondary air is preheated to a high temperature
  • more environmentally friendly combustion – boiler according to ČSN EN 303-5 class 5, ECODESIGN 2015/1189
  • exhaust fan – dust-free ash removal, boiler room without smoke
  • cooling loop against overheating – no risk of boiler damage
  • automatic boiler shutdown after the fuel has burned out – flue gas thermostat
  • convenient ash removal – large ceramic combustion chamber for ash (coal ash is removed once a day, wood ash once a week)
  • boiler without a tube – easier cleaning
  • small dimensions and low weight
  • high quality

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How to choose the right output for a solid fuel boiler? Base your choice on the calculated heat loss of the heated building, but with wood/coal boilers also consider that the boiler burns for several hours at essentially constant output during one filling - it is therefore common practice to supplement the boiler with a storage (buffer) tank, which stores excess heat for later use instead of the boiler having to be inefficiently throttled down.
  • What else do I need to install this boiler? In addition to the boiler itself, the system usually requires: a storage (buffer) tank of adequate volume, a circulation pump (often already with a built-in Laddomat or thermoregulatory valve against low-temperature boiler corrosion), a safety valve, an expansion vessel and a flue/chimney with sufficient draft corresponding to the boiler output - you can find the exact chimney draft values in the technical parameters above.
  • What fuel is suitable and what is not? Use only fuel recommended by the manufacturer for the given model (usually piece wood of a defined length and moisture content, or brown coal briquettes or coal depending on the boiler type) - unsuitable or overly moist fuel reduces efficiency, increases the formation of tar and deposits, and can cause damage to the boiler.
  • What about chimney inspection and legislation? Before putting the boiler into operation, as well as regularly during its use (usually once a year for solid fuels), the chimney must by law be checked/cleaned by an authorized chimney sweep - without the relevant inspection certificate, an insurance claim in the event of a fire may also be disputable.
  • How much maintenance does the boiler require? This typically includes regular ash removal and cleaning of heating surfaces/flue gas paths from soot (interval depending on intensity of use, usually in the order of weeks), and once a year a thorough inspection including seals and the chimney.
  • Can I install the boiler myself? The actual placement and connection of the boiler to the heating system, chimney and safety elements should be carried out or at least professionally checked by a heating technician - this is a device with an open flame, high temperatures and pressure elements, where an installation error can be a safety risk.
