ATMOS DC 18 S upr
Code: DC18SUPRProduct detailed description
- 20 kW WOOD GAS modified for a pellet burner in the upper door
- the boiler is designed so that the boiler body is welded from quality steel sheets 3 to 8 mm thick, consisting of an upper chamber fitted at the top with a door with an opening for installing the pellet burner and, at the bottom, a gasification nozzle. The lower space, fitted with ceramic mouldings for ideal burnout of all combustible substances with high efficiency and environmentally friendly combustion, also serves as an ash pan.
Warning !! Left- or right-hand opening version can be ordered.
This must be stated in the order notes.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I choose the right output for a solid fuel boiler? Base it on the calculated heat loss of the building being heated. For wood/coal boilers, however, also consider that the boiler burns for several hours per load at essentially constant output - it is therefore common practice to add a buffer (accumulation) tank, which stores surplus heat for later use instead of forcing the boiler to be inefficiently throttled down.
- What else do I need to install this boiler? Besides the boiler itself, the system usually requires: a buffer (accumulation) tank of adequate volume, a circulation pump (often already fitted with a Laddomat or a thermoregulating valve to protect the boiler against low-temperature corrosion), a safety valve, an expansion vessel, and a flue/chimney with sufficient draught corresponding to the boiler’s output - you’ll find the exact chimney draught values in the technical parameters above.
- What fuel is suitable and what isn’t? Use only the fuel recommended by the manufacturer for the given model (typically split logs of a defined length and moisture content, or brown-coal briquettes or coal depending on the boiler type) - unsuitable or overly damp fuel reduces efficiency, increases tar and deposit build-up, and can damage the boiler.
- What about chimney inspections and legislation? Before commissioning the boiler, and regularly during its use (usually once a year for solid fuels), the law requires the chimney to be inspected/cleaned by a certified chimney sweep - without the relevant inspection certificate, an insurance claim in the event of a fire could also be disputed.
- How much maintenance does the boiler need? This usually involves regularly removing ash and cleaning soot from the heating surfaces/flue gas passages (the interval depends on how intensively the boiler is used, typically a matter of weeks), plus a thorough annual check including the seals and chimney.
- Can I install the boiler myself? Positioning the boiler and connecting it to the heating system, chimney and safety components should be carried out, or at least professionally checked, by a heating technician - this is equipment with an open flame, high temperatures and pressurised components, where a connection error can be a safety risk.
