Detailed information

Product detailed description

- 40kW ecological wood gasification boiler – WOODGAS with exhaust fan and cooling loop

It is designed for burning wood on the principle of generator gasification using an exhaust fan (S), which draws the flue gases out of the boiler.
The boiler body is made as a weldment from quality steel sheets 3 to 8 mm thick. It consists of a fuel hopper (6mm), which is fitted at the bottom with a gasification nozzle with a longitudinal opening for the passage of flue gases and gases. The afterburning chamber below it is equipped with ceramic moldings for ideal combustion of all combustible substances with high efficiency in ecologically friendly combustion. In the rear part of the boiler body there is a vertical flue gas channel, which is fitted in its upper part with an ignition flap. The upper part of the flue gas channel is equipped with an exhaust neck for connection to the chimney.

Basic technical data of Atmos DC40SX:

  • output: 40 kW
  • efficiency 88.9%
  • required chimney draft: 24 Pa
  • boiler weight: 368 kg
  • water volume: 80 L
  • hopper volume: 135 dm3
  • max. wood length: 530 mm
  • required fuel: dry wood with calorific value of 15 – 18 MJ/kg, diameter 80 – 150 mm and moisture 12–20 %
  • minimum return water temperature: 65 °C
  • suitable connection ATMOS F2 Laddomat, ATMOS F4 ESBE
  • combustion class: 5
  • energy efficiency class: A+
  • control panel with standard regulation
Note: This type of boiler can also be purchased in a version with built-in equithermal control ACD04 with touch display ATMOS DC40SX REG, or also in a version with automatic ignition and electronic control AC32, the boiler ATMOS DC40SX ZAP

Advantages of ATMOS wood gasification boilers:

  • possibility to burn large pieces of wood
  • large fuel hopper = long burning time
  • high efficiency
  • ecological combustion - boiler according to ČSN EN 303-5 class 4 and 5, ECODESIGN 2015/1189
  • exhaust fan - dust-free ash removal, dust-free boiler room
  • cooling loop against overheating - no risk of boiler damage
  • automatic boiler shutdown after fuel burns out - flue gas thermostat
  • convenient ash removal - large ceramic combustion chamber for ash (with wood, ash is removed once a week)
  • boiler without a tube bundle - easier cleaning
  • small dimensions and low weight
  • high quality

Frequently asked questions

  • How to choose the correct output for a solid fuel boiler? Base your choice on the calculated heat loss of the heated building, but for wood/coal boilers also consider that the boiler burns for several hours at essentially constant output during a single load - therefore it is common practice to add a buffer tank to the boiler, which stores excess heat for later use instead of the boiler having to be inefficiently throttled down.
  • What else do I need to install this boiler? In addition to the boiler itself, the system usually requires: a buffer (equalizing) tank of adequate volume, a circulation pump (often already with a built-in Laddomat or thermoregulatory valve against low-temperature corrosion of the boiler), a safety valve, an expansion tank, and a flue/chimney with sufficient draft corresponding to the boiler output - you can find the exact chimney draft values in the technical parameters above.
  • What fuel is suitable and what is not? Use only fuel recommended by the manufacturer for the given model (usually split wood of a defined length and moisture, or brown coal briquettes or coal depending on the boiler type) - unsuitable or too moist fuel reduces efficiency, increases tar and deposit formation, and can damage the boiler.
  • What about chimney inspection and legislation? Before putting the boiler into operation, as well as regularly during its use (usually once a year for solid fuels), a chimney inspection/cleaning by an authorized chimney sweep is required by law - without the relevant inspection certificate, an insurance claim in the event of a fire could also be disputed.
  • How much maintenance does the boiler require? This usually includes regular removal of ash and cleaning of heating surfaces/flue gas passages of soot (interval depending on intensity of use, usually in the order of weeks), and once a year a thorough inspection including seals and the chimney.
  • Can I install the boiler myself? The actual placement and connection of the boiler to the heating system, chimney, and safety elements should be carried out or at least professionally checked by a heating technician - this is a device with an open flame, high temperatures, and pressure elements, where a connection error can be a safety risk.
