Detailed information

Product detailed description

Perfectly durable and dense lawn

Barenbrug RPR® Lawn 1kg represents a revolutionary sports grass seed mixture that brings technology from professional stadiums straight to your garden. RPR (Regenerating Perennial Ryegrass) technology forms horizontal runners (stolons) in the lawn, which create a dense network in the soil, guaranteeing a beautiful and durable lawn.

This system ensures that your lawn will be many times stronger than common mixtures, while maintaining a high aesthetic value of the ornamental carpet. It is the ideal choice for high-load areas where fast recovery and maximum durability are needed.

Main advantages of Barenbrug RPR® Lawn

  • Extreme durability: The lawn is "strong as iron" and resists being kicked out during intensive sport
  • Self-regenerating ability: Stolons actively fill in damaged spots and quickly repair the lawn.
  • Fast greening: Combines strength with a lightning-fast start, so you don't have to wait long for results
  • High purity: The dense turf of the lawn naturally suppresses the growth of weeds and unwanted grasses
  • Wide use: Suitable for gardens, football pitches, parks, and busy paths
  • Early sowing: Unlike standard mixtures, RPR® can be sown as early as March

A combination of strength and beauty without compromise

RPR® Lawn is the first grass seed mixture that has managed to combine the growth speed of ryegrass with the durability of meadow grass. You no longer have to choose between a lawn that germinates quickly and one that can withstand the onslaught of children or pets. You can have both!

  • Extreme strength and speed: The RPR variety is just as strong as Kentucky bluegrass but germinates significantly faster
  • Stop unwanted annual bluegrass: The fast start of RPR reduces the risk of unwanted annual bluegrass taking hold on your area
  • Density and health: Thanks to the content of red fescue, the lawn achieves very high density and excellent natural disease resistance
  • Less worry, more joy: The result is a better-rooted lawn that, thanks to its robustness, needs less fertilizing and less water

A rocket start for every seed

In the RPR Lawn 1 kg and 5 kg packages, the seeds are treated with the unique Yellow Jacket technology. This biostimulant contains natural plant hormones (cytokinins and auxins) and enzymes that stimulate new grass to grow quickly right after sowing.

What do you get with Yellow Jacket technology?

  • Strong root system: A richer and deeper root development ensures efficient nutrient uptake and higher drought resistance.
  • Fast above-ground growth: Supports photosynthesis and speeds up the development of the green area, making the lawn more resistant to stress and disease in the first stage of growth.
  • Health and safety: The preparation is purely organic and biodegradable. It is completely safe for people, pets, birds, and beneficial insects.

Preparation and successful implementation

To achieve the perfect result, we recommend the following procedure:

  • Ground preparation: Remove weeds and stones and loosen the soil to a depth of at least 20 cm.
  • Sowing: Use a hand spreader for an even distribution of the seed.
  • Covering and rolling: Gently work the seed into the soil to a depth of about 0.5 cm and roll the area.
  • Watering: Keep the area constantly moist for the first 21 days, ideally using automatic irrigation.
  • Mowing: Perform the first mowing at a height of 10 cm, then maintain the height as needed (ideally with a robotic mower ).

WARNING: Before sowing, we recommend laying a mole net to protect your investment and work from mole damage.

The mixture is blended to thrive on various soil types and provide year-round stability.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - Barenbrug RPR Lawn

What makes RPR technology unique?

The main advantage is the horizontal runners (stolons), which give the lawn a self-regenerating ability. They create a dense network, thanks to which the lawn is extremely resistant to damage and can fill in empty spots on its own.

Can the lawn handle high load (children and dogs)?

Yes, Barenbrug RPR is designed for extreme durability, making it ideal for family gardens with high activity. Thanks to its high load tolerance, it has wide use, from sports areas to busy home lawns.

How to speed up germination and greening?

The seed itself guarantees fast greening of the area. For even faster seed germination, we recommend using a white covering fabric, which creates a microclimate and maintains the necessary moisture.

Can the lawn suppress weed growth?

Thanks to the dense network of horizontal runners, natural protection against weed overgrowth is created. The lawn continuously thickens its growth, leaving no room for weeds and unwanted grasses to take hold in the soil.
