Big Blue Cation-Exchange Cartridge 10" QA CF-SX Scale The cation-exchange cartridge is used to reduce water hardness. It is a refillable container filled with cation-exchange resin operating in the sodium cycle. As water flows through, it replaces calcium and magnesium ions in the water with sodium ions. It increases the sodium content in the output water. Pre-filtration is required. The cation-exchange filling is regenerated with a table salt solution. The service life of the cation-exchange cartridge depends on the calcium and magnesium content of the water. Household use: Filtration of drinking water.
