Product detailed description
Buderus is part of the Bosch Thermotechnik group and has been one of the leaders in heating and hot water technology in Germany and throughout Europe for decades. The combination of German manufacturing quality, focus on energy efficiency and a wide range of components that are perfectly matched to each other makes Buderus cylinders a proven choice for both new buildings and renovations.
Complete set of the Buderus Logalux S120 cylinder, white
Buderus Set S120, white is a complete set of an indirectly heated domestic hot water cylinder with a volume of 120 litres, which, unlike the lightweight "light" version, also includes the complete safety circuit – an expansion vessel, a safety valve with pressure gauge (AirfixControl) and a mounting bracket for the expansion vessel. Thanks to this, the set is ready for immediate installation without the need to purchase additional safety components.
The "S" (Speicher) type cylinder has one heat exchanger, through which heating water from the boiler flows and transfers heat to the domestic hot water stored in the enamelled tank. The white casing made of durable plastic withstands common operating conditions in utility rooms and boiler rooms well.
What is included in the set
The complete set includes:
- Logalux S120/5, white (code 8718542406, 1 pc)
- FSS temperature sensor (code 5991520, 1 pc)
- Logafix expansion vessel D12, 10 bar, white (code 80432072, 1 pc)
- Logafix AirfixControl (code 7747201056, 1 pc)
- Bracket for expansion vessel MB2 (code 12222017, 1 pc)
The FSS temperature sensor measures the water temperature in the cylinder for boiler control, the Logafix D12 expansion vessel (10 bar) compensates for volume changes of water during heating, AirfixControl serves as a safety valve with a pressure gauge for pressure monitoring and system safety, and the MB2 bracket ensures a firm and tidy attachment of the expansion vessel in the installation.
How to choose the right cylinder size
120 litres is a suitable volume for a household of 2-3 people with average hot water consumption. For a higher number of people or if greater comfort is required (for example, simultaneous showering and using the kitchen), it is advisable to consider a larger set, such as the S160 with 160 litres. The speed of reheating after draw-off also depends on the output of the connected boiler.
Frequently asked questions
Why choose the full S120 set instead of the light version?
The full set includes a complete safety circuit (expansion vessel, safety valve, bracket), so it is ready for installation without the need to purchase additional safety components.
What is the maximum operating pressure of the expansion vessel?
The Logafix D12 expansion vessel in this set is rated for 10 bar, which corresponds to the common requirements of domestic heating systems.
Can the cylinder be connected to any boiler?
Yes, the heat exchanger is universal and suitable for connection to most common gas and other boilers on the market.
How often should the safety valve be checked?
Regular inspection is recommended as part of the annual service check of the heating system to verify its function and tightness.
Is the set also suitable for an apartment?
Yes, with sufficient space in a utility room or storage room, the 120-litre set is commonly used in apartment units as well.
What is the difference between the white and silver S120 set?
It is the same cylinder and the same accessories, they differ only in the colour of the cylinder's outer casing.
Installation and operation
Installation of the cylinder and its connection to the heating, or possibly solar circuit, may only be carried out by a qualified person with the appropriate authorization – this involves work on hot water, gas or electrical distribution systems, as well as work with pressure vessels, where incorrect installation can endanger operational safety and void the warranty. Before installation, we recommend checking whether there is sufficient space at the installation site for service access (especially to the heat exchangers, anode and sensors), whether the floor can bear the weight of the filled cylinder, and whether drainage of any water from the safety valve is ensured.
After connection, the cylinder must be filled, vented and the control technology (sensors, or possibly the control of the solar circuit) set according to the project documentation and manufacturer's instructions. Regular servicing – checking the anode, tightness, pressure in the expansion vessel and the function of the safety valve – extends the service life of the cylinder and reduces the risk of unexpected failure.
Warranty and service
Buderus products are generally covered by a 2-year statutory warranty. When registering the device via the official Buderus portal and having it commissioned by an authorized service technician, it is possible, under standard conditions, to obtain an extended warranty on the cylinder's heat exchanger – we recommend verifying the exact conditions and length of the extended warranty directly during product registration or with an authorized Buderus service partner. The Buderus service network in Slovakia is extensive, spare parts are readily available, and by following the installation and maintenance instructions, you can expect many years of trouble-free operation from the cylinder.
