Product detailed description

- for pellets, output: 4.5 – 24 kW

- intended for boiler types (tall 3-chamber (3-door) boilers, model 2018):

DC 18 SP C 18 SP

DC 25 SP

C 25 SP
  DC 30 SPX
DC 32 SP

Boilers and burners DCxxSP and CxxSP in the Model 2018 design are equipped with a function that automatically closes or opens the air supply to the boiler/burner using a servo drive when firing with wood or pellets. The boilers are equipped with an AGF2 flue gas temperature sensor and a KTF20 boiler temperature sensor for the automatic burner start function after the wood has burned out. They are further equipped with two KTF 20 sensors (TV and TS) for controlling the burner according to two temperatures on the buffer tank. The whole set is thus sold in the maximum specification for fully automatic operation and easy ,,plug and play“ installation.

suitable for good-quality white softwood pellets without bark, 6 - 8 mm in diameter, 10 - 25 mm in length, with a calorific value of 16 - 19 MJ/kg. The advantage of the burner is automatic fuel ignition using a glow-plug coil, which ignites the pellets whenever heating is needed. The burner and boiler thus operate at full output with the highest efficiency of 85 to 90% and the best combustion quality. This is unlike many competing products, which have no ignition device and must always maintain a bed of embers in the combustion chamber.

Operation at such low output, where the flue gas temperature drops below 100°C, causes condensation of tars and acids in the combustion chamber and chimney. This causes lower efficiency, higher fuel consumption, worse combustion quality, greater fouling of the boiler and more frequent cleaning. With our products, ash removal is done every 7 to 30 days, depending on fuel quality and boiler output. The burners are not intended for dark pellets.

If you want to burn lower-quality wood pellets, fit the burner with pneumatic cleaning.

The ideal way to control the burner is by two sensors (TV and TS) on the buffer tank. The control unit monitors the heating up of the buffer tank fully automatically and always guarantees enough energy for the heating system. This wiring method saves you fuel and electrical energy and extends the service life of the pellet burner.

The burner's electronic control unit also controls the boiler's induced-draught fan, the pump in the boiler circuit and/or the solar system.

The burner's electronic unit makes it possible to control burner operation using four sensors, so that if the sensor on the solar panel detects that it is advantageous to heat the buffer tank with energy from the solar collector, it ensures that the burner control only charges the tank with pellet energy up to the level of sensor TK (TS2), which is located in the tank between sensors TS and TV.

The burner operates as follows. When the burner receives a start command, or when a need for heating arises, the conveyor feeds pellets into the burner nozzle, which are ignited automatically by the glow-plug coil. Once the pellets are sufficiently ignited, the burner ramps up to the set output, at which it remains until the system is heated. The burner then switches off and the pellets in the burner chamber burn out. The whole cycle repeats whenever needed again. The boiler's output and other burner functions are controlled by the burner's electronic control, which allows the boiler's operation to be adapted to the specific conditions of the whole system.

The burner allows a large number of individual settings described in the operating instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I choose the right output for a solid fuel boiler? Base your choice on the calculated heat loss of the heated building; for wood/coal boilers also bear in mind that the boiler burns for several hours at essentially constant output on a single load - it is therefore common practice to add a buffer (accumulation) tank, which stores the surplus heat for later use instead of forcing the boiler to run inefficiently at a reduced output.
  • What else do I need to install this boiler? Besides the boiler itself, the system usually requires: a suitably sized buffer (accumulation) tank, a circulation pump (often already fitted with a Laddomat or thermoregulating valve to protect the boiler against low-temperature corrosion), a safety valve, an expansion vessel, and a flue/chimney with sufficient draught matching the boiler's output - exact draught values can be found in the technical parameters above.
  • What fuel is suitable, and what isn't? Use only fuel recommended by the manufacturer for the given model (typically split firewood of a defined length and moisture content, or lignite briquettes or coal depending on the boiler type) - unsuitable or overly damp fuel reduces efficiency, increases tar and deposit build-up, and can damage the boiler.
  • What about chimney inspection and legislation? Before the boiler is put into operation, and regularly during its use (typically once a year for solid fuels), a chimney inspection/cleaning by an authorised chimney sweep is legally required - without the relevant inspection certificate, an insurance claim in the event of a fire may also be disputed.
  • How much maintenance does the boiler require? This typically includes regular removal of ash and cleaning of the heating surfaces/flue gas paths of soot (interval depending on intensity of use, usually a matter of weeks), plus a thorough annual inspection including seals and the chimney.
  • Can I install the boiler myself? The actual placement and connection of the boiler to the heating system, chimney and safety elements should be carried out, or at least professionally checked, by a heating technician - this is an appliance with an open flame, high temperatures and pressurised parts, where a wiring/connection error can be a safety risk.
