The status monitor is an excellent addition for all batteries with an operating voltage of 8 to 120 V, whether lead-acid or lithium. It is useful in all photovoltaic power plants with battery storage, in caravans, motorhomes, boats and backup systems, simply everywhere it is necessary to know the actual state of charge of the battery with one quick glance. While most cheaper inverters and charge controllers only estimate the battery's state of charge based on its voltage, the BM500 status monitor uses a shunt to measure the actual bidirectional current flow in the battery, thus calculating the remaining capacity much more accurately. The beautiful display with green backlight also shows in real time the charging or discharging power of the battery, voltage, estimated remaining capacity, and the time until full charge or discharge. The display has adjustable brightness, can be completely turned off, pulses slowly while charging, and lights continuously while discharging, so the user can see the battery's activity at a glance without reading the data. A great and versatile choice everywhere the battery cannot be monitored via a mobile app, or where using a phone for monitoring is undesirable.
