Filter Cartridge 10" QA CF-SX The cation-filled cartridge is used to reduce water hardness. It is a disassemblable container filled with cation resin that works on the sodium cycle. As water flows through, it replaces calcium and magnesium ions in the water with sodium ions. Increases the sodium content in the outlet water. However, pre-filtration is required. The cation filling is regenerated with a solution of table salt. The service life of the cation cartridge depends on the calcium and magnesium content of the water.
