A conventional check valve can "bang" loudly when closing and cause water hammer in the pipe. The ZZ-KL15 solves this problem with a built-in damper that softens the movement of the swing disc when closing - so the valve works quietly and without impact.

The principle remains the same as with any check valve: the disc opens freely when flow is in the correct direction, and closes immediately if backflow is attempted. This protects the pump, mixing valves and heat source from water flowing back in the central heating system. It is installed directly into the pipe with a 1/2" thread and has no operating lever - it works automatically.
