The PC-16 control unit with pressure gauge and dry-run auto-restart for controlling pump operation performs the function of a pressure switch or pressure tank, enabling automatic operation of submersible or self-priming (surface) pumps. Depending on a drop in pressure and the stopping of water flow in the system, it allows the pump or water system to run automatically. With the PC-16 control unit you DO NOT NEED a pressure tank (watering, irrigation), a pressure switch, or dry-run protection. If you need to use water every day, use a Home Water System with a pressure tank. Or a home water system with a self-priming - surface pump - darling. The PC-16 control unit with pressure gauge provides dry-run protection - it switches off the pump when running without water. This protects the pump from damage that could otherwise occur. The PC-16 control unit automatically, without manual intervention, tries to restart the pump - if water is still not available, the PC-16 switches the pump off. This cycle can repeat several times a day, which can be an advantage for automatic irrigation. We recommend using the PC-16 control unit with pressure gauge and dry-run auto-restart in clean water systems without impurities and sediments, otherwise a suitable filter must be installed.
