DLF Turfline Ornamental Park grass mix 7.5 kg is a densely growing and resilient mix designed for ornamental grass areas. The grasses in this mix ensure low and compact lawn growth. The seed is suitable not only for sunny areas but also for shady locations. It is characterized by a fast regeneration ability in case of damage.

For optimal results, experienced installers use up to 50g/m2 (i.e. 5kg per 100m2), and with proper watering this can help avoid the need for reseeding.

PREPARATION:

First, it is advisable to remove old vegetation, debris, weeds, and stones. The top layer should be loosened, thoroughly watered, treated with 2cm of lawn substrate, and left to settle for about a week. It should then be rolled. Finally, it is good to level the soil with a rake to loosen the top layer of soil.

The ideal time to plant a new lawn is (in an average year) around the turn of April/May, or in autumn in September/October.

For sowing, we recommend using a hand seeder for smaller areas, or a seeder/spreader cart for larger areas, to ensure an even distribution of the grass seed.

MAINTENANCE :

Mowing :

The lawn is mowed for the first time when the grass is about 6-8 cm high. The second mowing is done at a grass height of 3-4cm. Later, the grass can be mowed to a height depending on the type of seed used. For park-type seed, the mowed lawn height should be about 2.5 cm.

Care:

A lawn that is meant to be a garden ornament requires regular mowing (ideally with the help of a Wiper robotic mower), supplying the necessary nutrients 3 times a year (spring/transitional/autumn fertilization), and chemical treatment against diseases and pests as needed.

NOTICE: before planting a lawn, also consider laying a mole protection net (about 5-6cm below the surface, ideally under the substrate) to ensure that all your work is not ultimately ruined by this unwanted visitor.

COMPLETE SPECIFICATION OF THE STARTER FERTILIZER

When establishing a new lawn, besides choosing the right seed or turf, it is also important to select the right fertilizer. KRIKETS starter fertilizer provides the lawn with an increased phosphorus (P) content. This supports root formation and development, allowing you to achieve a well-established lawn in a short time. When the seed has immediate access to sufficient phosphorus, it has a high chance of rooting well. On the other hand, the relatively high nitrogen (N) content supports rapid lawn growth.

For optimal results, the phosphorus fertilizer should be worked in below the seed, so it is advisable to apply it before sowing, or apply it under the turf. However, it can also be applied to support new seed after every sowing or reseeding. After sowing, we recommend rolling the area and watering with 10mm to help the seeds and fertilizer granules settle.

After applying the fertilizer, the area needs to be watered thoroughly.
