ELVIQ Ultra EQ-UF is an intelligent ultrafiltration system with automatic backwash, designed for central filtration of municipal water in family houses, apartments, offices, smaller commercial operations, and as pre-treatment before reverse osmosis.

The system uses a PVDF ultrafiltration membrane that acts as a physical barrier against turbidity, undissolved particles, colloids, bacteria and microbiological contamination. Water passes through a very fine membrane structure, while unwanted mechanical and microbiological particles remain captured on the membrane.

Unlike reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration does not significantly change the mineral composition of water and does not reduce TDS. Naturally present minerals remain in the water.

Backwash with purified water

One of the biggest advantages of the ELVIQ Ultra system is the way the membranes are cleaned.

During backwashing, water filtered by one UF membrane is used to clean the other membrane. The membrane is therefore not backwashed with raw water, but with already purified water.

This solution helps to:

• reduce membrane fouling,
• maintain a more stable flow rate,
• extend membrane lifespan,
• reduce service requirements,
• improve backwash efficiency.

ELVIQ Ultra EQ-UF is particularly suitable for reducing the content of:

* Ultrafiltration is a physical membrane technology. For water of unknown quality or increased microbiological risk, we recommend supplementing the system with UV disinfection.

What the system does not filter

ELVIQ Ultra EQ-UF is not a water softener, reverse osmosis, or active carbon filter. It does not remove dissolved substances and does not significantly change the mineral composition of water.

A softener is required to remove water hardness. Reverse osmosis is suitable for reducing TDS, nitrates, arsenic or dissolved salts. Active carbon is recommended for removing chlorine and odor.
