FORMAT ODK-H2 mole and vole repeller with randomly changing sound
Acoustic electronic repeller of moles, rodents and voles. This is a genuinely Czech product with a long tradition on the market (since 1991), manufactured directly here by FORMAT1 spol. s r. o. The OdKH2 version is the second, improved model of the popular OdKH series. Very reliable and powerful, tested by many customers over more than 29 years. Harmless to humans and domestic farm animals.
The device creates an unpleasant sound environment for pests, and the pest gradually leaves the protected area. The device is therefore completely humane - it does not kill animals or harm them, it only makes their stay in the protected area unpleasant, i.e. it drives them away. It does not use any chemical additives inserted into the soil. It is waterproof, and the battery is also located in this waterproof compartment, so even if it is damaged (leaking), the surrounding soil is not contaminated in any way.
How OdKH2 repels pests:
The device emits sound waves at low frequencies. The sound frequency changes completely randomly, both in pitch and over time. It is therefore non-habituating! This is because pests gradually get used to a single continuous tone, after which the device stops being effective.
The device is spatially voluminous (large casing) to allow low sounds to resonate properly (the bass speaker is also large and voluminous, otherwise it would not be able to transmit low tones).
The sound intensity is strong for a large range. That is why the device is powered by 6 "C" size batteries, which will power the device for an entire season (approx. 6 months). Due to the required high acoustic output, the OdKH2 device is battery-powered rather than solar-powered, as a solar cell of this size would not be able to deliver the required output.
Sound practically does not spread from the device into the open space (out of the ground), as it is insulated by a double lid.
What about a garden larger than 400 m2?
If you have a garden larger than 400 m2, you can cover this larger area by relocating the device. For example, leave it installed in one part of the garden for a week, then move it to another part of the garden for a week, and then move it back again, and so on. This way you make use of the "residual" effect of its operation. This can be done at a maximum of 2 installation locations for the device. For an even larger garden, it is necessary to obtain more devices.
