Edgings prevent soil erosion from flower beds and plants growing outside the designated area. How are decorative edgings made?

Bricks is a range of eco-friendly garden edgings made from recycled rubber (TÜV Nord certified), from a sustainable source of recycled tyres from passenger and commercial vehicles, which are collected from landfills. Rubber granulate is collected from used tyres and transformed into useful products for your garden. Thanks to the rubber, the edgings are flexible and resistant to all weather conditions, including extreme heat or extreme cold. It does not lose or change colour over the years.

Installing garden edging

You can install the edgings level with the ground or leave part of them protruding. Before laying the edgings, it is advisable to dig around the area you will be edging. This will cut through plant roots that could grow under the edgings, and at the same time mark out the space where you will place the edgings and how you will shape them.

Each edging piece is 120 cm long and can be trimmed as needed to the required length. Attach the edging to the ground using pegs. If using more than 1 piece of edging, use the connector, included in the set, to join two sections. When shaping the edging, insert the pegs gradually from the edge so that the edging bends more easily.

Useful accessories

In addition to the edgings themselves, garden textiles are also useful when laying them. The most common types include geotextile and non-woven mulching fabric. The fabric usually serves as a separating layer that also prevents weeds from growing through. The fabrics are resistant to mould and rot. Garden fabrics are installed under the edging and are secured by the anchoring pegs themselves through the edging. The garden fabric separates the lower layer, formed by soil, from the upper layer, which is most often made up of mulching bark, decorative pebbles, paving, etc.
