Do you need to separate different areas in your garden? Garden edging is the ideal helper - easy to install and resistant to weather changes. Edging prevents soil erosion from flower beds and plants growing beyond their designated space. Separating a flower bed or path from the lawn makes mowing with garden equipment easier and simplifies work around plants. The Roman Stone garden edging imitates stones and is therefore also a decorative element in the garden.

How is the decorative edging made?

Roman Stone is a range of eco-friendly garden edging made from 100% recycled rubber (TÜV Nord certified), from a sustainable source of recycled tyres from passenger cars and trucks, collected from landfills. The rubber granulate is collected from used tyres and transformed into useful products for your garden. Thanks to the rubber, the surface is flexible and durable in all weather conditions, including extreme heat or extreme cold. It does not lose or change colour over the years.

Installing garden edging

You can install the edging flush with the ground or leave part of it protruding. Before laying the edging, it is advisable to dig around the area you will be edging. This will cut through the roots of plants that could grow underneath the edging, and it will also mark out the space where you will place the edging and how you will shape it. Each edging piece is 120 cm long and has 4 holes for anchoring pins. Insert the pin into the hole and press it into the ground so that it does not protrude from the edging. If you are shaping the edging, insert the pins gradually from the edge to make it easier to bend.

Useful accessories

In addition to the edging itself, garden textiles are also useful when laying it. The most common types are geotextile and non-woven mulching fabric. The fabric usually serves as a separating layer that also prevents weed growth. The fabrics are resistant to mould and rot. Garden textiles are installed under the edging and are secured by the anchoring nails themselves through the edging. The garden textile separates the lower layer, formed by soil, from the upper layer, most often made up of mulching bark, decorative pebbles, paving, etc.
