Edging prevents soil erosion from flower beds and plants growing beyond the designated area. Separating a flower bed or path from the lawn makes mowing with garden equipment easier and simplifies work around plants. How is the decorative edging made?

Roman Stone is a range of eco-friendly garden edging made from 100% recycled rubber (TÜV Nord certified), from a sustainable source of recycled tires from cars and trucks, which are collected from landfills. Rubber granulate is collected from used tires and transformed into useful products for your garden. Thanks to the rubber, the edging is flexible and durable in any weather, including extreme heat or extreme cold. It does not lose or change color over the years.

Installing the garden edging

You can install the edging flush with the terrain or leave part of it protruding. Before laying the edging, it is advisable to dig around the area you will be edging. This will cut through the roots of plants that could grow under the edging and will also help you mark out the space where you will lay the edging and how you will shape it. Each edging piece is 120 cm long and has 4 holes for anchoring pins. Insert the pin into the hole and press it into the ground so that it does not protrude from the edging. If you are shaping the edging, insert the pins gradually from the edge so that the edging bends more easily.

Suitable accessories

In addition to the edging itself, garden textiles are also useful during installation. The most common types include geotextile and non-woven mulching textiles. The textile most often serves as a separating layer, which also prevents weed growth. The textiles are not susceptible to mold or rot. Garden textiles are installed under the edging and are secured by the anchoring nails themselves through the edging. The garden textile separates the lower layer, made of soil, from the upper layer, most often consisting of mulching bark, decorative pebbles, paving, etc.
