Accumulator

A battery is an electrical device that stores and releases electrical energy using chemical reactions. It is one of the most common electrical energy storage devices used for various purposes in households, industry and transport.

How the battery works: The battery consists of two electrodes (anode and cathode) that are placed inside the electrolyte. An electrolyte is a substance that allows ions to move between electrodes. During the charging of the accumulator, chemical reactions occur between the electrodes and the electrolyte, whereby electrical energy is stored in the form of a chemical potential. During the discharge of the battery, these chemical reactions are triggered in the opposite direction and the stored electrical energy is released in the form of a current.

Use of accumulators:

Transportation: Accumulators are most commonly used in electric cars and hybrid vehicles to move the vehicles and as a power source for their electrical systems.

Households: They are used for backup power, solar systems, power outages and as a source for small electrical appliances.

Industry: Used for drives, backup systems, backup power sources and power systems.

Telecommunications: Accumulators serve as a backup power source for telecommunications networks in case of power outages.

Healthcare: They are used in medical devices such as electric carts, monitors, defibrillators and others.

Wireless communication devices: For example, mobile phones, laptops and other wireless devices.

Alternative energy sources: They serve as a backup source for solar panels and wind turbines.

Batteries are an integral part of our lives these days and play a key role in storing and providing electrical energy for a wide range of applications.
