The GrassRoll Premium+ grass reinforcement mat is made of recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE), which is chemically and biologically inert. This means it does not release any substances into the soil and is safe for children and pets.

GrassRoll Premium+ is not intended only for parking. Thanks to its structure, it is an excellent tool for areas where the lawn suffers from frequent walking or play.

It is often used to reinforce heavily used areas under swings, slides, or around sandpits. It prevents the grass from being trampled down to bare soil and prevents muddy patches, keeping the playground clean and safe.

Step 1: Preparing the surface

Although the mat does not require subsoil replacement, the surface must be level and firm. Before installation, mow the lawn as low as possible. Remove stones, branches, and fill any holes with soil.

If the terrain is too soft or waterlogged, we recommend first compacting it with a roller so that the mat does not sink too deeply into the mud after a car drives over it.

Step 2: Letting the mat acclimatize

The mat is supplied in rolls, so after unpacking it retains its shape memory and may curl. Unroll it at the destination and let it "rest" for at least 1 hour (longer in colder weather).

The goal is for the mat to lie flat on the terrain across its entire surface. Only once it is flat can you begin anchoring. You can temporarily weigh down or lightly secure the corners to prevent shifting.

Step 3: Anchoring and fixing

The GrassRoll Premium+ package includes a basic set of U-shaped anchoring pins (usually 3 pcs/m²). However, for perfect stability, especially in curves or on uneven terrain, we recommend purchasing additional steel pins and increasing the anchoring density.

Principles of proper anchoring:

• Slightly stretch the mat while anchoring it to avoid "bubbles".
• If laying several rolls side by side, do not overlap them, but place them tightly next to each other (touching).
• Drive the pins flush with the surface so they do not stick out and damage the lawnmower.

Care and maintenance

After installation, the mat is fully functional, but for the best aesthetic result, we recommend letting the grass grow through the grid (approx. 6-8 weeks during the season). This way the grass will "lock in" and hide the grid.

During the first months, mow the lawn at a higher setting to avoid damaging the mat while it "settles". In winter, you can clear snow off the area normally (with a rubber strip on the rake), as the mat is frost-resistant.
