Solution for sloped areas and hillsides

GrassTex® grass fabric is used for reinforcing and seeding highway slopes, sloped areas, and other hard-to-reach terrain. Since the seed is firmly fixed in the geotextile, it does not slide off even during heavy rainfall.

As the fabric decomposes, a dense and strong root system forms, which naturally holds the slope together and protects it from erosion.

When installing on a slope, we recommend placing a natural jute geotextile over the Grasstex grass fabric, which stabilizes the soil and prevents it from sliding, ensuring perfect grass establishment on the given area.

How to properly lay GrassTex®?

The process is very similar to classic lawn seeding, but with a much higher guarantee of results:

• Preparation: Remove weeds, stones, and level the surface.
• Installation: Unroll the carpet and secure it with plastic nails or steel staples .
• Covering: Cover the fabric with a layer of soil or sand about 0.5-1 cm thick.
• Watering: Keep the area regularly moist during germination.
• First mowing: When the grass reaches a height of 10 cm.

Simple and quick DIY installation

Establishing a lawn with GrassTex can be handled without problems even by an ordinary user without special tools. The whole process is simple, logical, and not time-consuming.

The installation was carried out by our customer on their own, without a professional company, which clearly shows that GrassTex is a solution suitable for home DIYers as well.

The following photos show the entire installation process - from preparing the subsoil, through the actual installation, to the resulting dense and even lawn.

Preparing the subsoil for laying the grass carpet

Preparing the subsoil for Grasstex is the same as for a classic lawn. First remove weeds (ideally twice), stones, roots, and any unevenness. The subsoil should consist of at least 20 cm of loosened fertile soil or lawn substrate so that the lawn takes root properly.

Laying the grass carpet

Spread the grass geotextile over the prepared subsoil. The fabric can be easily trimmed with a knife or sturdy scissors as needed. Lay the individual strips with an overlap of 10-15 cm so they connect properly.

Cover the geotextile with a 0.5-1 cm layer of soil or lawn substrate. Lay the fabric strips in the direction of covering, so the soil does not get under the geotextile.

Grass seed germination

During grass seed germination (14-21 days), water the area regularly and thoroughly so that it never dries out completely, but also does not have standing water. Best results are achieved with automatic irrigation with shorter watering intervals several times a day.

One month after laying the grass carpet

Perform the first mowing when the grass reaches a height of about 10 cm. Trim the grass by no more than 1/3 of its length, ideally using a cylinder mower. After that, mow to a height of 4 cm, according to the instructions of the Barenbrug RPR Lawn seed manufacturer. This seed can also be used later, in case of reseeding before the start of the season.

Final result of the grass carpet after 2 months

In the final result, the customer is already fully enjoying the benefits of the Grasstex grass carpet, which makes their summer moments in the garden more pleasant.

Lawn care is the same as for a regular lawn - regular mowing, fertilizing, and treatment against diseases and pests as needed. The Barenbrug grass mixture used in GrassTex products is designed mainly for sunny locations and requires regular maintenance.

Storage

You don't have to lay GrassTex right away. In a dry and dark environment without access for rodents, it can be stored for up to 2 years. We recommend storing it on a shelf so that the geotextile is not in direct contact with the ground.

NOTICE: GrassTex cannot be returned within the legally established period, as it is a product made to order to ensure maximum freshness of the seed.

An end to unsightly mole hills thanks to a mechanical barrier

The anti-mole net is a highly effective plastic mesh designed to protect your lawn from moles. It creates an impenetrable mechanical barrier that prevents moles from reaching the surface, definitively preventing the formation of mole hills. This is a humane solution - the animal remains alive and safe, while your lawn maintains its perfect level surface throughout its lifetime.

Simple installation process for a lasting result

Installing the mesh is quick and easy, whether you are an experienced garden installer or a home DIYer. The key to success is proper placement below ground level.

• Spread the net over a previously leveled and weed-free area.
• Overlap the individual strips by at least 10 cm.
• Secure the mesh with pegs or nails (depending on terrain complexity).
• Then cover the net with a layer of soil at least 5 cm thick , to allow for future lawn scarification.
