Insulation foam 28 mm / 9 mm (3/4")
Code: IZO 28/09Product detailed description
Insulation foam 28 mm/9 mm (3/4")
Pipe insulation, or insulating foam for pipes, is used to insulate the heating circuit against heat loss to the surroundings. Its second function is to retain condensed water on the heating pipes.
The pipe insulation is made of Mirelon material.
The insulation comes in two-metre rods. It is slid along the pipe where possible; otherwise it can be slit lengthwise.
The insulation tube is intended for:
- insulating hot and cold water distribution
- insulating central heating distribution
- insulating refrigeration and air-conditioning distribution
Product properties:
- material: Mirelon
- temperature range: -30 °C to +90 °C
- length: 2 m
- colour: grey
For a pipe with a diameter of 15 mm, you need insulation with a diameter of 18 mm. For a pipe diameter of 18 mm, you need insulation with a diameter of 22 mm, and so on.
Minimum order is 2 metres.
When adding to the cart, enter the number of metres, not the number of pieces.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I choose the correct insulation diameter for my pipe? Insulation is chosen according to the outer diameter of your pipe - the inner diameter of the insulation must be slightly larger so it can be pulled onto the pipe (e.g. for a 15 mm pipe, insulation with an 18 mm inner diameter is used; for an 18 mm pipe, 22 mm insulation, etc.). You will find the exact diameter pairs in the comparison table above.
- What is the difference in insulation wall thickness (6 mm vs. 9 mm)? A thicker wall (9 mm) provides better thermal insulation performance and is more suitable for longer runs, outdoor pipework, or where you want to minimise heat loss as much as possible; a thinner wall (6 mm) is sufficient for shorter sections or less critical distribution and is cheaper.
- How is the insulation fitted onto already-installed pipework? Where possible, the insulation is slid on from the end of the pipe before it is connected. For pipework that is already connected, where the insulation cannot be slid on from the end, it can be slit lengthwise and then "wrapped" around the pipe.
- What does the minimum order of 2 metres mean, and why is it ordered in metres, not pieces? The insulation is supplied in 2-metre rods as the smallest sales unit - so you always enter the number of metres (in multiples of 2) in the cart, not the number of individual package pieces.
- Does the insulation also protect against condensation? Yes, in addition to preventing heat loss to the surroundings, the insulation also prevents condensation from forming on the pipe surface (typical especially for cold-water or cooling distribution), thereby protecting surrounding structures from moisture.
