The LEGI automatic opener for roof greenhouse windows replaces manual window opening, so you no longer have to constantly think about when the greenhouse windows need to be opened and closed. The opener's piston, included in the package, contains wax/oil that reacts to ambient temperatures. As the temperature rises, the lever opens, thereby opening the window. The system works in reverse when the temperature drops.

The difference between this opener and the standard roof opener lies in a different design, thanks to which the piston does not protrude beyond its structure, so there is no risk of it coming into contact with the polycarbonate in the case of a greatly curved greenhouse. All other features of both openers are the same.

The opening start point can be set within a temperature range of 17 °C to 25 °C according to the grower's needs. The upper limit of full opening is at 34 °C. The maximum total window weight for correct operation is up to 14 kg (classic polycarbonate windows).

If your greenhouse, in addition to the roof window, also has ventilation on the front of the greenhouse (door or front window), you can also use the automatic opener for front windows. However, remember that warm air stays near the ceiling, which is why roof ventilation is very important. Front ventilation of the greenhouse can be considered more of a supplementary feature.

Another essential condition for optimal yield is regular fresh air exchange, which affects the health and fertility of plants. Piston removal

If not in use for a longer period, or when temperatures drop below 7 °C, the piston must be simply removed from the opener and stored in a dry and warm place to prevent damage to its function. The opener's structure itself can remain attached to the greenhouse window.

Before reinstalling, it is recommended to lubricate the inner part of the piston (e.g. with grease or oil) so that the rod moves smoothly inside the piston cylinder. If the piston stops working, there's no need to buy a new opener - simply purchase a replacement piston HERE.
