LEGI TOMATO Garden Greenhouse 4 x 2 m, 4 mm
Code: JEZ_GA179934Product detailed description
The arched greenhouse by LEGI TOMATO 4 x 2 m made of polycarbonate is manufactured from extra robust galvanized steel tubes (profiles) 20 x 20 mm. The galvanized coating protects the greenhouse frame against corrosion. The profile is galvanized on both the outer and inner side. The welded joints are treated with zinc coating. Thanks to these parameters, the greenhouse stands out for its durability and robustness. The load resistance (snow, etc.) is up to 80 kg/m2 - suitable for lower and medium (less windy) areas.
The glazing of the greenhouse consists of clear hollow-chamber polycarbonate with a thickness of 4 mm with UV protection, thanks to which it does not become brittle or yellow. The polycarbonate is certified and meets all conditions of health safety.
Deciding between 4 mm or 6 mm polycarbonate?
With 6 mm polycarbonate, the greenhouse naturally has greater overall resistance to weather effects. At the same time, thermal insulation properties are increased by roughly 20-30%. Of course, the price of a greenhouse with 6 mm polycarbonate is higher, specifically by about 20%. However, if you do not live on mountain ridges or grow very demanding plants in the greenhouse, the 4 mm glazing variant is often sufficient.

Assembly
Anchoring the greenhouse can be done in two ways - by burying it into the ground or by anchoring it to a concrete foundation. When anchoring into the ground, the protruding profiles are buried in a trench in the ground up to the aforementioned base profile. For burying, excavated soil is sufficient, or we recommend sand or gravel for reinforcement. When anchoring to a concrete foundation or lost formwork, the profiles intended for burying are not fitted. The individual ends of the greenhouse arches are anchored to the concrete base using so-called angle profiles (not included in the package).
The greenhouse uses an original connecting system and profiles, and building this greenhouse is among the easier ones compared to others. Another advantage of the LEGI Tomato greenhouse is the already assembled greenhouse fronts, supplied as 1 piece, to which only the doors and polycarbonate need to be attached. For the construction itself, we recommend allocating one full day for two people. The construction is not technically demanding, but due to the robustness of the frame and the precision required for cutting the polycarbonate, it requires relatively more time. The assembly instructions can be downloaded here: LEGI Tomato Assembly Instructions
In addition to taping the fronts of the greenhouse, it is also advisable to tape the longitudinal sides of the greenhouse with ventilation tape. These can only be sealed during the assembly of the greenhouse. Therefore, don't forget to buy an extra package of ventilation tape (length 33 m) for this purpose.
Packaging
Each shipment consists of a box with materials, a package of profiles, and the appropriate number of polycarbonate sheets measuring 6 × 2.1 m. One sheet is always used for cutting the front parts, while the remaining sheets are not cut - they are intended for covering the arches.
The contents of the package for individual greenhouse lengths are listed in the table below.
| Greenhouse dimensions | Number of sheets | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| 4 x 2 m | 3 pcs | 72 kg |
| 6 x 2 m | 4 pcs | 94 kg |
| 8 x 2 m | 5 pcs | 116 kg |
