Frequently asked questions

• How does this controller/control unit work? It compares the temperature at the solar collector with the temperature in the storage tank (or another heat consumer) and, when the collector is sufficiently warmer, switches on the circulation pump of the solar circuit to transfer the collected heat into the tank - when the temperature difference is small or negative, the pump switches off again to prevent the tank from cooling back down.
• What sensors do I need for this controller? Typically at least one sensor on the collector (the hottest point) and one in the storage tank - the exact number and type of sensors required can be found in the technical documentation of the specific controller.
• Can the controller manage more than one heat consumer (e.g. a pool and a storage tank)? With more advanced controllers, yes - they allow you to prioritize where the collected solar heat should be directed at any given moment, based on the current temperatures of the individual consumers.
• Must the installation and setup be carried out by a professional? We recommend entrusting the connection of the controller, sensors and pump into a working solar system to a solar system professional, who will also ensure the correct initial configuration of the controller parameters.
