An electronic pump run switch, also known as a press control, performs the function of a pressure switch. This allows the automation of an electric water pump depending on a drop in pressure and the stopping of water flow in the system (by opening and closing the device's electrical contacts). The PC-13 press control unit with pressure gauge also provides dry-run protection - it switches the pump off when running without water. After switching off, it is put back into operation by pressing the RESET button. We recommend using the PC-13 press control unit with pressure gauge in clean water systems without dirt or sediment. Otherwise, a suitable filter must be installed on the inlet side of the device. Installation: The PC-13 unit with pressure gauge can be installed at any point between the pump and the first point of use, so that the direction of the arrow located on the underside of the device (near the thread) between the two 1" connections corresponds to the direction of water flow. Perfect sealing of the hydraulic connections must be ensured in the system. If a pump with a maximum permissible pressure of 6 bar is used, a pressure reducing valve must be installed on the PC-13 inlet. The device is factory-set to 1.5 bar, which is optimal for most applications.
