Peddy Shield Set of 20 Sliders for Attaching Sail to Cable - Light Grey
Code: OZ_PD-00-22-00-2XProduct detailed description
Smooth movement and reliable attachment of the shade sail
The set of 20 light grey Peddy Shield sliders with stainless steel screws is designed for firmly attaching and smoothly guiding a shade sail along tensioning cables. These special sliding runners, 30 mm long, are precisely matched to stainless steel cables with a diameter of 2 mm. The shape of the sliders allows the sail to be easily drawn in and extended, as well as quickly removed from the cable by turning it 90° without having to disassemble the tensioning system.
Stainless steel
screws
The package includes stainless steel screws that resist corrosion outdoors.
For cables
up to 2 mm
Precisely calibrated for smooth stainless steel cables with a diameter of 2 mm.
Washable
at 40 °C
No need to remove the sliders - they can be washed directly together with the shade sail.
90° turn
release
Easy to attach to the cable and to remove by simply turning.
Key advantages of the sliding runners
- Maintenance-free machine washing: The sliders are made of a high-quality, temperature-stable plastic that withstands a wash cycle at 40 °C without damage. You don't need to unscrew them when cleaning the sail.
- Absolute corrosion resistance: The included stainless steel mounting screws guarantee lasting mechanical strength of the joint without the risk of rusting or staining the sail.
- Simple installation and removal: To attach the sail to the cable, simply insert the cable into the slider's groove and turn it 90 degrees. Removing the sail is just as quick in the opposite direction.
- Universal use: The set is designed for ready-made Peddy Shield shade sails, but is also ideal when sewing your own shade sails yourself or through a tailoring service .
Instructions for correctly fitting the sliders to the sail's edge
To achieve smooth, uninterrupted movement of the shade sail without jamming, we recommend following this exact installation procedure:
- Keep a 20 cm spacing: For even tensioning, we recommend a spacing of exactly 20 cm between sliders. At this distance, the depth of the folds in the rolled-up sail will be approximately 10 cm.
- Skip the corners of the sail: Leave the first 2 cm free at the reinforced corners of the sail. Plastic sliders are difficult to fit onto reinforced seams at the corners and could damage the needle during installation.
- Screw orientation: Slide the runners onto the edge hem of the sail so that the side with the head of the stainless steel screw faces outward or upward. This way, the screw will not be visible from below.
- Thorough tightening: Tighten the screw using a small Phillips screwdriver so that the slider is fixed exactly at a right angle (90°) to the sail's hem. An incorrect angle causes the sliders to cross and jam on the cable.
Technical parameters and material composition
Peddy Shield fasteners are manufactured according to strict dimensional standards that ensure a low coefficient of friction in contact with the metal cable.

Important requirements for the guide cable
To maintain proper function and smooth sliding, it is necessary to use a certified stainless steel cable with an even surface. Ordinary industrial cables have a surface that is too rough, acting like a file. Using such a cable causes rapid wear and mechanical damage to the plastic, which subsequently causes the system to jam.
NOTICE: The seller is not liable for damage or excessive wear of the sliders caused by using non-original guide cables with a rough surface.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - Cable Sliders
What diameter of guide cable is compatible with these sliders?
The sliders are precisely calibrated for stainless steel cables with a diameter of 2 mm and a smooth surface. Industrial cables with a rough structure are not suitable, as they disrupt smooth sliding and cause jamming.
Do I need to remove the sliders before washing the shade sail?
No, the sliders are designed to be permanently screwed to the edge of the sail. Both the slider material and the included stainless steel screws are resistant to water and temperature changes, so the sail can be machine washed at up to 40 °C with the sliders still attached.
What spacing between sliders is recommended when making a sail?
For proper tensioning, we recommend installing the sliders at a spacing of 20 cm. At this distance, when the sail is retracted, you get even and aesthetically pleasing folds approximately 10 cm deep.
How many sliders will I need for my shade sail?
The number depends on the length of the sail. For a length of 270 cm we recommend 20 pieces (10 on each side), for 330 cm you need 26 pieces (13 on each side), and for 420 cm you should use 34 pieces (17 on each side).
