Peddy Shield Set of 20 Sliders for Attaching Shade Sail to Wire Rope - White
Code: OZ_PD-00-22-00-0XProduct detailed description
Smooth movement and reliable attachment of the shade sail
The set of 20 white Peddy Shield sliders with stainless steel screws is designed for efficient attachment and smooth guiding of the shade sail along the guide wires. These 30 mm long sliders are specially designed for a stainless steel wire rope with a diameter of 2 mm. The slider design allows easy extending and releasing of the sail, as well as quick removal from the wire with a single 90° turn without the need to disassemble the tensioning system.
Stainless steel
screws
The package includes stainless steel screws that are corrosion-resistant outdoors.
For ropes
up to 2 mm
Precisely calibrated for smooth stainless steel ropes with a diameter of 2 mm.
Washable
at 40 °C
The sliders do not need to be removed, they are washable directly together with the shade sail.
90°
turn
Easy to attach to the rope and release from the rope by turning.
Key advantages of the sliders
- Maintenance-free machine washing: The sliders are made of high-quality, temperature-stable plastic that withstands a 40 °C washing cycle without damage. You don't need to unscrew them when cleaning the sail.
- Absolute corrosion resistance: The included stainless steel mounting screws guarantee lasting mechanical strength of the joint without the risk of rusting or staining the white fabric.
- Easy installation and removal: To attach the sail to the wire, simply insert the wire into the slider's groove and turn it 90 degrees. Removing the sail is just as quick, in the opposite direction.
- Universal use: The set is designed for ready-made Peddy Shield shade sails, but is also ideal when sewing your own shade sails, whether by yourself or through a tailoring service .
Instructions for correctly attaching the sliders to the sail edge
For trouble-free and smooth movement of the shade sail without sticking, it is necessary to follow the exact procedure during installation:
- Maintain a 20 cm spacing: For even tensioning, we recommend a spacing of exactly 20 cm between sliders. At this distance, the fold depth of the rolled-up sail will be approximately 10 cm.
- Skip the corners of the sail: Leave the first 2 cm at the reinforced corners of the sail free. Plastic sliders are difficult to fit onto the reinforced seams at the corners and could damage the needle during installation.
- Screw orientation: Slide the sliders onto the edge hem of the sail so that the side with the stainless steel screw head faces outward or upward. This way, the screw will not be visible when viewed from below.
- Thorough tightening: Tighten the screw using a small Phillips screwdriver so that the slider is fixed at exactly a right angle (90°) to the sail hem. An incorrect angle causes the sliders to cross and stick on the rope.
Technical parameters and material composition
Peddy Shield fasteners meet strict dimensional standards that ensure a low coefficient of friction in contact with the metal wire rope.
- Slider dimensions (L x W): 30 mm x 13 mm (width at the attachment point: 10 mm)

- Screw material: 100% stainless steel
- Slider colour: White
- Compatible guide profile: Exclusively stainless steel wire ropes with a diameter of 2 mm
- Recommended spacing for installation: Every 20 cm on the sail hem

Important requirements for the guide wire
To maintain proper function and smooth movement, it is necessary to use a certified stainless steel wire rope with a smooth surface (smooth braided cable). Ordinary industrial steel ropes have too coarse a structure, which acts like a file. On a rough rope, the plastic wears down quickly, causing the system to stick.
NOTE: The seller is not responsible for damage and excessive wear of the sliders caused by the use of non-original guide wires with a rough surface.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - Wire Rope Sliders
What diameter of guide wire is compatible with these sliders?
The sliders are calibrated exclusively for stainless steel wire ropes with a diameter of exactly 2 mm and a smooth surface. Ordinary industrial ropes are not suitable due to their rough structure, which prevents smooth sliding and can cause jamming.
Do I need to remove the sliders before washing the shade sail?
No, the sliders are designed to be permanently screwed to the edge of the sail. The material of the sliders and the included stainless steel screws are resistant to water and temperature, so you can wash the sail in a washing machine at up to 40 °C together with the sliders.
What spacing between sliders is recommended when making a sail?
For optimal tensioning, we recommend installing the sliders with a spacing of 20 cm. At this distance, when the sail is retracted, you will achieve even and aesthetically pleasing folds with a depth of approximately 10 cm.
How many sliders will I need for my shade sail?
The number depends on the length of the sail. For a length of 270 cm, we recommend 20 pieces (10 on each side), for 330 cm you will need 26 pieces (13 on each side), and for 420 cm, 34 pieces are needed (17 on each side).
