The Solarfam photovoltaic panel is made of monocrystalline silicon. It is lightweight and semi-flexible, designed primarily for mounting on slightly curved surfaces, e.g. on boats or caravans. It is equipped with 90 cm long cables with MC4 connectors. It is designed for a 12V system voltage and, considering the Vmp parameter, for MPPT regulators.

The CPC material used on the surface has good weather resistance and high light transmittance, and its performance is better than that of ETFE material. The integration of the composite material provides better protection for the solar cells compared to traditional flexible panels. The panels are very light, easy to carry and install.

Description of the monocrystalline cell
To produce a monocrystalline cell, a uniform quartz crystal ingot must be produced. Such production is quite demanding. The round ingot is cut into so-called wafers, which are cut to the required size of the photovoltaic cell. Since the ingot is formed as one large silicon crystal, its structure is uniform and very pure.
Advantages of monocrystalline
Higher cell efficiency, and thus higher output from the same area
Slightly slower "aging" of the silicon, i.e. the panel's output decreases more slowly over time
the coloring of the cells is homogeneous, the panels are not "spotted"
Installation
When gluing the flexible panel to the roof of a vehicle, caravan, etc., different expansion rates of the roof and panel material must be taken into account, as they can cause damage to the flexible panel.
It is recommended to glue flexible panels onto an interlayer made of "Makrolon Plaxiglas" material, which also allows air to flow under the solar panel, increasing its efficiency. Warning: the flexible panel can only be bent along the longer side at an angle of maximum 20°.
