The plastic elbow, which offers a 1" female thread on one side and a 1" male thread on the other, is used for irrigation systems as well as for piping in filtration equipment of swimming pools, ornamental ponds, fish tanks, air conditioning distribution and other applications. This fitting is used to create a 90° bend in places where such a maneuver is necessary.
Fittings made of rigid PVC are used mainly in low-pressure irrigation installations and are not suitable for indoor installation in pressurized drinking water pipelines.
The threads of the plastic fitting need to be sealed with teflon tape or thread .
