The reducing plastic elbow equipped with one 5/4" male thread and one 1" female thread is used to change the thread diameter in irrigation systems and in piping for filtration units for swimming pools, ornamental tanks, ponds, air conditioning equipment, etc. This elbow is used in places where a 90° bend is required.
Hard PVC fittings are most commonly used in low-pressure irrigation systems and are not recommended for indoor installation on pressurized drinking water pipes.
The threads of the plastic fitting need to be sealed with teflon tape or thread .
