Q-termo TSW 15/8 Heating Cable (output 15W/m) cable length: 8 m total output: 120W conductor thickness: 6.2 mm protection rating: IP X7 cord length: 3.5 m (with plug) warranty: 2 years The TSW heating cable with a self-regulating Thermo Switch thermostat is designed to protect any outdoor pipework from freezing. It is most commonly used on outdoor water connections, drains and tanks. The cable consists of a “cold” supply lead with a plug for connection to a 230V socket (3.5 m long), an attached Thermo Switch thermostat, and a heating end section in various lengths. The heating cable also features a protective braided shield against electric shock. The cable works by switching on as soon as the attached thermostat detects the pipe temperature dropping below 3°C, heating the pipe up to a temperature of 15°C. It then switches off again. The heating cable therefore has very low running costs and stands out for its extremely long service life, thanks to its robust construction resistant to water, frost and sudden temperature changes. When installing on a pipe, it is recommended to use cable ties or adhesives that are resistant to high temperatures. Aluminium adhesive tape can also be used. The cable is a two-core cable with only one connecting conductor. The thermostat is built into the cable, so no additional regulation is required. Complies with the requirements of European standard IEC 60800 1998.
