Rectangular nozzles are well suited for narrow areas and small lawns, making irrigation more efficient. The Rain Bird 9-SST spray nozzle with a constant pattern of 2.7 x 5.5m is designed for use with Rain Bird's static sprinklers of the 1804 series as well as UNI-Spray. The fixed pattern ensures the same precipitation rate across all nozzles, which significantly simplifies the design of the irrigation system. Each nozzle is supplied with a filter located directly beneath it and is designed to operate at a working pressure between 1 and 2.1 bar.

The choice of nozzle depends on the dimensions of the individual irrigated areas. For areas up to 5m in length, spray nozzles on static sprinklers are suitable, while larger areas require rotary sprinklers. Within a single section, only one type of sprinkler equipped with the appropriate nozzles should be used - static and rotary sprinklers are never combined. Water consumption for a single section must not exceed the pump's capacity after subtracting all losses, and equal water consumption across all sections should be aimed for.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT NOZZLE

When planning the placement of nozzles, it is essential to follow the rule of overlapping coverage between neighboring sprinklers. This means that the distance between sprinklers should correspond to the throw range of their nozzles. Based on this principle, it is possible to determine which specific nozzle should be selected for a given type of sprinkler.
