Rectangular nozzles are used in narrow areas to make irrigation of small lawn areas more efficient. The Rain Bird 15-RCS spray nozzle (right corner) with a fixed pattern of 1.2 x 4.6m is designed for Rain Bird static sprayers of the 1804 series as well as UNI-Spray. Thanks to the fixed pattern, all nozzles have the same precipitation rate, which greatly simplifies the design of the irrigation system. It comes with a filter located directly under the nozzle. The operating pressure ranges from 1 to 2.1 bar.

The choice of nozzle depends on the size of the individual irrigated areas. For areas up to 5m in length, spray nozzles on static sprayers are used, while larger areas require rotary sprayers. Within a single section, only one type of sprayer with nozzles adapted to the needs should be used. Static and rotary sprayers should not be combined. Water consumption per section must not exceed the pump output after subtracting all losses. We aim to maintain the same water consumption across all sections.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT NOZZLE

When designing the placement of nozzles, it is necessary to follow the principle of mutual overlap between neighboring sprayers. This means that the distance between sprayers should be equal to the throw range of the nozzles. Based on this, we can determine which nozzle should be selected for a given sprayer.
