It is a removable container filled with cation exchange resin that works on the sodium cycle. As water flows through, it replaces calcium and magnesium ions in the water with sodium ions. It increases the sodium content of the outgoing water. Pre-filtration is required, however. The cation filling is regenerated with a table salt solution. The service life of the cation cartridge depends on the calcium and magnesium content of the water. Household use: filtration of drinking water. Technical use: high-quality filtration of water with neutral pH (pH=7) Maintenance: none. Recommendation: Use a mechanical pre-filter to protect the cartridge.
