MPPT controller 15A for LiFePO4 batteries with a system voltage of 12V and for PV panels with max. power of 200W with max. input voltage of 35V and min. input voltage of 15.8V. It is primarily designed for panels with a system voltage of 12V, which generate 16–18V under maximum load.
Brief description of MPPT controllers:
MPPT controllers use an internal converter to adjust the V-A characteristic of the current source - the solar panel - so that it is optimal for charging the battery. Thanks to this, they can utilize the energy from solar panels better than PWM controllers, which regulate charging only by pulse-limiting the direct connection between the solar panel and the battery, where the pulse width is proportional to the state of the battery being charged. In other words, an MPPT controller can generate ideal voltage and current for charging the battery from a higher voltage and lower current source. For example, it converts 18V/5A to 14.5V/6.2A. The conversion efficiency of the V-A characteristic is usually above 95%, so the losses are minimal, and the controllers can generally be adapted to different types of batteries so that charging is as optimal as possible.
