DLF TURFLINE® Easy Green (Eco Lawn) grass seed mixture designed for establishing a low-maintenance lawn. Eco Lawn does not require much water or fertilizer and is characterized by fast and even germination and the formation of a dense turf. The composition includes microclover (Microclover®), which ensures a fresh green appearance and is suitable for gardens, park areas and playgrounds.

Composition:

Preparation:

It is recommended to first remove old vegetation, roots, weeds and stones. The topsoil should be loosened, thoroughly watered, covered with a 2cm thick layer of lawn substrate, and left to settle for a week. Finally, it is recommended to roll the area. Before planting, it is advisable to level the soil with a rake to ensure a well-loosened top layer of soil.

The most suitable time for planting a new lawn (in normal weather) is late April/early May or in autumn in September/October.

When overseeding or regenerating a lawn, you can use a hand seeder for smaller areas or a trailer seeder for larger areas to achieve an even distribution of seed.

Watering :

During germination of the grass seed (the first 14-28 days), the area must be watered regularly and thoroughly so that the lawn surface never fully dries out, ideally in the morning and evening. Water should not stand on the surface. The best results are achieved with automatic irrigation set to shorter watering cycles per day. During longer dry spells, watering needs to be intensified.

Maintenance :

Mowing:

The lawn can be mowed for the first time when it reaches a height of about 10 cm. Trim the fresh shoots to about 6-8 cm, ideally using a reel mower. Later, the grass can be mowed to a height of about 3-4 cm.

Care:

As a garden feature, a lawn requires regular mowing (ideally with a Wiper robotic mower), nutrient application 2-3 times a year (spring, transitional or autumn fertilization), and chemical protection against diseases and pests as needed.

NOTE: before planting a lawn, consider installing anti-mole netting (about 3-4cm below the surface, ideally under the substrate) to make sure your work does not end up ruined by this unwanted visitor.
