DLF TURFLINE® Easy Green (Eco Lawn) grass seed mixture designed for establishing a low-maintenance lawn. The Eco Lawn variant does not require demanding irrigation or frequent fertilization, while featuring fast and even germination as well as dense growth. The mixture includes microclover (Microclover®), which provides an intense green shade and is suitable for gardens, park areas and sports fields.

Composition:

• Perennial ryegrass - Lolium perenne - 35%
• Red fescue - Festuca rubra - 45%
• Chewings fescue - Festuca rubra trichopylla - 12%
• Kentucky bluegrass - Poa pratensis - 5%
• Microclover - Microclover - 3%

Preparation:

The first step is to remove old vegetation, roots, weeds and stone inclusions. The top layer of soil should be loosened, thoroughly moistened, a 2 cm layer of lawn substrate applied, and left to settle for approximately one week. Afterwards, it is advisable to roll the area and finally level it with a rake so that the top layer of soil is sufficiently loosened.

The optimal time for planting a new lawn (under typical climatic conditions) is the transition from April to May or in autumn during September or October.

For even distribution of the grass seed, we recommend using a hand seeder for smaller areas, while for larger areas, wheeled seeders are more suitable.

Irrigation :

During the first 14 to 28 days after sowing, the area must be watered regularly and abundantly so that the soil does not dry out even for a short time, ideally in the morning and evening. Water should not remain standing on the surface. The best results are achieved by using an automatic irrigation system set to more frequent but shorter watering cycles per day. During prolonged drought, irrigation needs to be significantly intensified.

Maintenance :

Mowing:

The first mowing of the lawn can be done once it reaches a height of approximately 10 cm. Fresh shoots should be trimmed to a height of 6 to 8 cm, ideally using a reel mower. Afterwards, it is sufficient to mow the grass to a height of 3 to 4 cm.

Care:

A lawn intended to be a decorative part of the garden requires regular mowing (ideally with a Wiper robotic mower), nutrient supply 2 to 3 times a year (spring, transitional and autumn fertilization), and chemical protection against diseases and pests as needed.

NOTICE: before planting the lawn, also consider installing a protective net against moles (approx. 3-4 cm below the surface, ideally beneath the substrate), to ensure that your investment and effort are not ruined by this unwanted guest.
