Vaillant aroVAIR VA 2-075 CN (also labelled by the manufacturer as VA 2-070 CN, order number 0010035094) is the most powerful console fan coil unit in the aroVAIR VA 2 CN series – with a cooling capacity of 7.35 kW and a heating capacity of up to 8.05 kW at the highest fan speed. It is designed for large open-plan spaces, kitchen-living rooms, larger offices or commercial premises, or as a central unit covering several smaller adjacent spaces. Like the other models in the series, it works with water from an air-to-water heat pump instead of having its own compressor and refrigerant.
Design and operating principle
The VA 2-075 CN is a two-pipe fan coil unit with a three-row copper heat exchanger and aluminium fins, which, unlike the smaller models in the series, is driven by up to three separate DC (EC) fans placed along the entire length of the 1360 mm long casing. Thanks to this, the unit is able to handle a significantly higher air volume (up to 1360 m³/h) without requiring disproportionately high rotor speeds, which also has a positive effect on acoustic comfort relative to output.

In many cases, it may be more advantageous to use several smaller units (e.g. VA 2-035 CN or VA 2-045 CN) distributed across individual rooms instead of one large VA 2-075 CN in a central space – the choice depends on the building layout, aesthetic preferences, and whether separate temperature control in each room is desired, or whether a single shared cooling/heating source for the open space is sufficient.
Installation and hydraulic connection
The VA 2-075 CN can be installed as a console unit (wall/floor mounted), free-standing on VAZ-015-070-F1 feet, or ceiling-mounted – given the higher weight of the unit, increased attention to anchoring into the load-bearing ceiling structure and the use of suitable fixing elements with sufficient load capacity is recommended for ceiling installation. Handling the unit during installation should be carried out by at least two people.
The hydraulic connection remains G3/4" as with the whole series, but due to the significantly higher flow rates (up to 1,400 l/h in heating mode) and pressure drops (up to 46.9 kPa), it is essential to plan for a more powerful circulation pump when designing the circuit, especially if several appliances are connected to a shared circuit with the heat pump at the same time. The condensate drain (18.5 mm) needs to be dimensioned with a margin at this power level, as the unit produces significantly more condensate in cooling mode at high speed than the smaller models in the series – we recommend regularly checking the drain's patency, especially during the summer months.
The 230 V electrical connection requires a separate protected circuit rated for a current of up to 0.95 A at the full output of the three fans; operation is controlled by a room controller connected to the unit's terminal block. - Condensate system – condensate production is significant at this power level; check the drain's patency and the condition of the trap regularly throughout the entire summer season, not just at the beginning.
- Circuit air venting – at high flow rates, air trapped in the system will manifest more noticeably as noise and reduced output; thoroughly vent the circuit after every service intervention on the piping.
- Checking the three fans – regularly (at least once a year) check that all three rotors run evenly; uneven operation may indicate a need for service.
- Cleaning the heat exchanger – with a larger fin surface area, pay extra attention to thorough yet gentle cleaning along the entire length of the casing.
Safety when handling and during electrical installation
