Vaillant climaVAIR pro VAIB1-025WNO is the outdoor (exterior) unit of a wall-mounted monosplit air conditioning system from the climaVAIR pro range – the newest generation of air conditioning units from the German manufacturer Vaillant, which has long been known in Slovakia primarily as a leader in gas boilers and heat pumps. This outdoor unit is sold separately and is intended primarily for service and installation companies that need to purchase a replacement outdoor unit for an existing indoor unit VAIB1-025WNI, or for those who want to assemble a complete monosplit system from individual components instead of buying a ready-made set. The unit is designed exclusively for monosplit operation, i.e. one outdoor unit combined with one indoor unit, and is not intended for connecting multiple indoor units at once (for that purpose, a separate climaVAIR multi range with outdoor units of the VAM1 series is available).

Basic technical parameters

The VAIB1-025WNO model belongs to the smallest power class of the climaVAIR pro range, with a rated cooling capacity of 2.5 kW and a heating capacity of 3.2 kW. The unit operates with the environmentally friendly refrigerant R32, which has a significantly lower global warming potential (GWP 675, according to current technical documentation 625) compared to older refrigerants such as R410A. The refrigerant charge in the system is approximately 0.51 kg. The operating outdoor temperature range is -15 °C to +50 °C for cooling and -15 °C to +30 °C for heating, so the unit can easily handle freezing Slovak winters as well as hot summer days. The dimensions of the outdoor unit (width × height × depth) are approximately 732 × 555 × 330 mm, and its net weight is 27 kg. The maximum length of the refrigerant piping between the outdoor and indoor units is 15 m, and the maximum height difference between the units is 10 m, which covers virtually all typical installations in houses and apartments.

Design and functions

The outdoor unit is equipped with a rotary compressor with DC inverter speed control, which continuously adjusts output to the current thermal load of the room instead of switching on and off abruptly. The result is more stable room temperature, lower electricity consumption and a longer compressor lifespan. An axial fan ensures sufficient airflow through the heat exchanger even at higher outdoor temperatures, and the entire design is focused on low noise levels. The unit's power supply is 220–240 V / 50 Hz / 1 phase, so installation does not require a three-phase supply or any intervention in the electrical wiring beyond a standard domestic socket circuit (the connection itself should be carried out by a qualified electrician/refrigeration technician in accordance with applicable standards).

Electrical connections, mounting on the bracket or feet, and the condition of the refrigerant pipe insulation should be checked by a professional service technician every 1-2 years as part of a regular service inspection, which for air conditioning units with F-gas refrigerant is in some cases (above a certain refrigerant quantity) also legally required for leak checks.

The indoor unit (sold separately, VAIB1-025WNI) needs to be cleaned more often – the dust filter should be vacuumed or washed approximately every 2-4 weeks during normal operation, or more often in dustier environments. Airflow and comfort features
