Vaillant eloBLOCK VE 6/14 EU III electric boiler 6 kW
Code: 0010023698Product detailed description
Vaillant eloBLOCK VE 6/14 EU III is a compact wall-mounted electric boiler with an output of 6 kW, designed primarily for smaller flats, cottages, cabins or well-insulated houses up to approx. 60 m². It is the smallest and most economical model in the entire eloBLOCK range we offer - an ideal choice where a gas connection is not available, where gas connection is not worthwhile due to the distance from the mains, or where the investor simply wants clean, maintenance-free and quiet heating without exhaust gases or a chimney.
The boiler is intended for installation into a heating circuit with radiators, underfloor heating or a combination of both, and comes with everything needed for immediate connection - a high-efficiency circulation pump, expansion vessel, safety valve, pressure gauge, thermometer and a digital control and information system on the front panel. Thanks to this, installation is fast and does not require purchasing any additional components for the primary circuit.
Technical characteristics
The VE 6/14 model belongs to the Vaillant eloBLOCK VE .. /14 EU III range of electric boilers, which is manufactured in power ratings from 6 to 28 kW - you choose exactly according to the heat loss of your building, so you don't pay for power you won't actually use, nor risk undersizing the heat source.

The control electronics of the VE 6/14 boiler continuously evaluate the flow temperature and system pressure and switch between individual output stages of the heating element according to current demand - this means the boiler does not run unnecessarily at full power when half or one-third output is sufficient, which saves electricity even during long-term operation. The boiler is intended exclusively for a closed heating circuit (not for instantaneous domestic water heating) - however, in combination with an indirectly heated domestic hot water cylinder, it can fully provide hot water heating for the household as well.
Installation and electrical connection
The VE 6/14 model connects to a three-phase 400 V/50 Hz supply, and the supply must be protected by a 10 A circuit breaker - the exact dimensioning of the supply cable and the type of circuit breaker (characteristic B or C depending on the distribution network) must be designed and carried out by a qualified electrician with a valid inspection report, as this is an appliance with high current draw. We recommend consulting the dimensioning of the main protective element of the house (main circuit breaker before the electricity meter) with your electricity distributor in advance, especially if you plan to combine the boiler with other large appliances (heat pump, cooker, electric vehicle charger).
When installing, it is also worth considering the following points:
- Using a low night tariff (dual tariff) - if the house has a dual-tariff electricity meter with a relay, the boiler can use cheaper night-time electricity to heat the building's thermal mass or the domestic hot water cylinder.
- Placing the boiler as close as possible to the heating circuit distribution to minimise heat losses in the piping and the length of the electrical supply.
- Ensuring sufficient space around the boiler for service access and ventilation of the boiler room.
- Adding a room thermostat or a Vaillant weather-compensated control (e.g. sensoCOMFORT VRC 720 or VRT 350f) for more precise and economical temperature control in individual rooms.
Use, compatibility and control
The VE 6/14 electric boiler is fully compatible with common heating systems - radiators (panel and ladder types), underfloor heating, or a combination of both via a mixing station. The boiler can be supplemented with an indirectly heated hot water cylinder (for example, the VIH or uniSTOR series) to create a complete heat and hot water source for the household. The control system can be extended with room thermostats, weekly programmers, or modern weather-compensated control with a mobile app output, which evaluates the outdoor temperature and regulates the heating water temperature accordingly - this significantly increases comfort as well as operating savings.
If you are not sure whether 6 kW of output will be sufficient for your building, our range also includes the higher-output eloBLOCK VE 14/14 model. Intermediate outputs VE 9/14 or VE 12/14 are also available, if your heat loss does not exactly match either of the extreme outputs.
The boiler is also suitable as:
- Main heat source where there is no gas connection or where burning solid fuels is prohibited in the given location.
- Supplementary/backup source alongside a heat pump, especially in a bivalent setup at very low outdoor temperatures.
- Temporary solution during renovation, until a gas connection or other permanent source is implemented.
- Solution for recreational properties - cottages and cabins, where consumption occurs only occasionally and investing in a gas connection would not be worthwhile.
Maintenance and service
The eloBLOCK VE 6/14 electric boiler is a maintenance-free heat source compared to gas condensing boilers or solid fuel boilers - it contains no burner, flue or chimney that would need regular cleaning. Nevertheless, we recommend:
- Having a service inspection carried out once a year by a qualified technician - checking the tightness of the circuit, the function of the safety valve, the pressure in the expansion vessel, and the condition of the heating element.
- Monitoring the heating water pressure on the boiler's pressure gauge and, if it drops below the recommended value, topping up the system according to the instructions in the operating manual.
- In areas with harder water, consider treating the fill water (softening/demineralisation), which extends the service life of the heating element and reduces the risk of scale buildup.
- Keeping the space around the boiler clear and not covering the ventilation openings of the casing.
Thanks to their simple design and the absence of a combustion process, electric boilers in the eloBLOCK range typically have a long service life and low failure rate, which, combined with a 2-year warranty from the supplier WINTNER s.r.o., represents a safe and long-term investment.
Why choose the eloBLOCK VE 6/14
Vaillant is one of the most trusted heating technology brands in Europe, and the eloBLOCK range brings the same quality of workmanship to the electric boiler segment as you know from the ecoTEC gas condensing boilers. The VE 6/14 model with an output of 6 kW is the smallest and most economical model in the entire eloBLOCK range we offer, making it a smart choice for smaller flats, cottages, cabins or well-insulated houses up to approx. 60 m². The boiler arrives fully ready for connection, including the pump and all necessary accessories, so the electrician only needs to handle the connection to the electrical grid and the existing heating circuit.
When choosing the correct output, it is worth basing the decision on an actual calculation of the building's heat loss (or a designer's recommendation), not just on the approximate floor area - the quality of insulation, ceiling height, number and size of windows, and location all have a significant impact on the required output. If in doubt, we are happy to help you choose the right model from the entire eloBLOCK range and suggest suitable control equipment.

Estimated operating costs
The exact operating consumption of an electric boiler is primarily determined by the specific building's heat loss, the quality of insulation, the set room temperature, and the length of the heating season - the following calculation is therefore only approximate and serves for a rough idea. Assuming a model scenario of approximately 1,300 hours of equivalent full-output operation during the heating season (typical for smaller flats, cottages, cabins or well-insulated houses up to approx. 60 m²), the annual consumption of the VE 6/14 model would reach approximately 7,800 kWh, which, at current electricity prices ranging from approx. €0.18 to €0.28/kWh (depending on tariff and supplier), represents estimated annual costs of approximately €1,404 - €2,184.
Actual consumption can be significantly reduced by using dual-tariff metering (shifting consumption to the cheaper night-time period), good building insulation, weather-compensated control based on outdoor temperature, and reasonable temperature setback settings during absence or at night. We recommend consulting a heating designer or energy auditor for a precise estimate of operating costs for your specific building.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions about the eloBLOCK VE 6/14 model
Is the eloBLOCK VE 6/14 electric boiler suitable as the sole heat source in a house?
Yes, the VE 6/14 boiler is designed as a fully self-sufficient heating source for smaller flats, cottages, cabins or well-insulated houses up to approx. 60 m². No additional boiler or supplementary heating is needed, provided the output is correctly sized to the building's heat loss.
Do I need an electrical inspection report before connecting the boiler?
Yes, due to the high current draw (10 A fuse protection), the supply and the boiler connection itself must be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the installation must comply with applicable standards. Without an inspection report, the service technician will not commission the boiler.
Can the boiler be connected to a night tariff (dual tariff)?
Yes, the boiler can be connected via a dual-tariff relay to shift most of its consumption into the cheaper night-time period - combined with a storage tank or greater thermal inertia of the building, this can achieve a noticeable saving on the electricity bill.
Is it possible to connect a hot water cylinder to the boiler?
Yes, the boiler is prepared for connection to an external indirectly heated domestic hot water cylinder (e.g. the Vaillant VIH or uniSTOR series) via the 3/4" heating circuit connections, so it can also handle hot water preparation for the entire household.
What is the difference between an electric boiler and an electric convector heater?
An electric boiler (eloBLOCK range) heats water, which then circulates to radiators or underfloor heating throughout the house - it is a central heat source. An electric convector heater (eloMENT range) is a standalone heating unit without water distribution, which heats directly only the room in which it is installed.
Can 6 kW heat an entire smaller house or flat?
Yes, for a well-insulated building up to approx. 60 m² - the VE 6/14 model is designed exactly for such smaller areas. For a larger or less well-insulated area, we recommend choosing a higher-output model from the eloBLOCK range.
Is such a small electric boiler worthwhile for a cottage that is heated only occasionally?
Yes, the VE 6/14 model is very well suited precisely for cottages and cabins with intermittent operation - it quickly heats up the small volume of water in the system, and there is no need to deal with fuel, a chimney, or exhaust gas removal.
